~ T A A R A ~
Progenitor of the Chosen Branch of the Starborn Prophets lineage project

The Arcanids meteor shower is one of the most beautiful sights across all of Sornieth. The event occurs during the Starfall Celebration, giving the shower its name. Every 75 cycles, the comets shoot across the sky, leaving beautiful streaks that even the Arcanist envies.

This time, though, was different.

When one of the meteors fell into the Starwood Strand, it took the local mages by surprise. Nevertheless, they searched the debris, hoping to research it and learn of its space magic. There had to have been a reason that the meteor fell in their territory, right?

As the dragons searched the rubble, they found piles upon piles of burnt space rock...but underneath...a sleeping child? Together, the mages lifted the Skydancer hatchling and brought it back to their clan. The following morning, the child calmly and peacefully awakened. The mage dragons stood still, awaiting an explanation.

"My name is Taara," she spoke in a cool, soft voice. "And I am a daughter of the stars." The dragons gasped, demanding to know more. "My heart is the core of a star, and stardust runs in my veins instead of blood. I am a destined prophet, bringing the wisdom of the cosmos."

In that moment, the Skydancer's eyes began to glow brightly, capturing the gaze of every mage in the room. "What is your purpose here in the Starfall Isles?" one questioned. "How do we know you're not lying?" another jabbed.

Taara smiled slyly, reaching out her wrist to show the glowing veins that ran through it. "I am to give the gift of stardust to the next generations, so that they may speak of the future, as well. My purpose is to create prophets, teach them my ways, and release them across all of Sornieth to spread the knowledge of the stars, and for their children to do the same, and so on for their children. The Eleven have sent me to do so...specifically your god, the Arcanist."

The Arcanites stared at each other in disbelief. "How can we question the mighty Arcanist in this matter?" The skeptic spoke out again. "If you're not lying, give us a prophecy right now." Taara chuckled at his doubtful challenge.

"As you know, I've just awakened, and you've been here the whole time. There's no way that I could see what's happening outside in the Strand right now. This is fair, correct?" The mages nodded in agreement. "Go back to the rubble where you found me. You'll find something there that wasn't there before. If it is not there, I'll return to the Arcanist's side for research immediately and leave you forever."

And so, taking the counter-challenge from Taara, the mages retraced their steps to the fallen star's debris. When they arrived, however, someone was already standing above the rubble.

"My, my, my. That took you longer than it should have."

The mages were befuddled. "Is this what Taara spoke of?"

"Introductions can wait. Take me to my sister. Take me to Taara."
