BIO/LORE When Beaumont first left home to explore Sornieth's wide expanses, he never imagined he'd cut his journey short to start his own clan. It all began with a discovery: not a week into his trip, he and his mate Morgana stumbled upon an ancient cave hidden among the dense underbrush of the Viridian Labyrinth. Its entrance was sealed off by a gargantuan stone inscribed with cryptic runes. Naturally, his curiosity was piqued. He wrote a letter to his old friend Lillith in the hope that she might know something about this strange cave. Instead, she decided she needed to see it herself, and then invited Osmund, who then told Oreads, who dragged along Alabaster, and - Well, within a month a whole community had sprung up around the site, and Beaumont was declared its de facto leader. He had become progenitor by accident. Beaumont has so far managed to be well-liked as clan leader despite his lack of experience. Kind, confident, and creative, he uses his charm to his advantage when meeting new dragons or diffusing heated discussions - a cheerful smile and a few interested questions are usually all it takes to lower someone's guard. His boundless optimism is also a source of encouragement for his clanmates. Not all his traits are amenable to leadership, however. Beaumont's thoughts have a tendency to wander on him, and he's never been good at remembering deadlines or keeping appointments. The young tundra often daydreams about upcoming novel plots, for example, instead of tackling the neverending pile of administrative papers on his desk. Oh, how he loathes paperwork. Though the job has its ups and downs, Beaumont views each challenge presented by his position as a new source of inspiration. He's vowed to do his best for his clanmates and hopes he'll live up to their expectations.
