She had loved him.
She had really really loved him. Raziel had been so gorgeous with that glint in his eyes, his smirk seemed to shine. They had been traveling partners, friends. To her it really had seemed inevitable to fall in love. Yet hadn't seemed that way to him, not that he ever said that out loud nor had she ever confessed either. But Solina knew what love looked like, and he had that look every time they ended up in Ouroboros to trade.

She had been the one to propose the idea of marriage. A selfish desire, a whim. She regrets it to this day. Because while at the time she had thought that love was never ending, all consuming, a permanent deal. As a merchant she really should have know that no deal is permeate. Over time her love withered. She still saw him as a friend and a good business partner but no longer did she long for him and his heart.

Instead she fell for another, and wondered if she was a fool. Maybe she should have stayed content in her one-sided marriage. At least she had him, even if it was only on paper. The person she loved now was someone she couldn't even touch if she wanted to.
