"PRAETORIANS are the elite guards of hives, usually found protecting important drones like consciousnesses, memory banks, and backups. Most praetorians are of larger breeds like Imperials, Ridgebacks, Guardians, and Gaolers, though they sometimes come in smaller warrior-caste morphs like Wildclaws and Mirrors. Praetorians have overdeveloped muscles, insanely thick and spiny carapaces, and devastating natural weaponry. They tend to be hyper-aggressive and will attack anything they deem a threat. If separated from their charge against their will, they become stressed and panicky, lashing out at everything in sight - and sometimes going into such crazy fits that they begin to scratch and tear at themselves.
Praetorians are not a threat to be taken lightly. A single praetorian, even of a smaller breed, is capable of holding its own against an entire squadron of well-trained warriors. Many praetorians have additional natural weapons, such as acidic blood, additional limbs or heads, and the ability to spit dangerous substances like acid and poisonous gas. When it comes to praetorians, they are limited in power only by the imagination of their own consciousness."
