pigeon came from an uncertain situation; the scars haven't left his mind, though they've certainly faded on his body. almost immediately in his youth he knew he was uncomfortable with himself. his parents, once loving and kind, scolded him for this decision and belittled him often, their kindness towards him turning to neglect, and eventually to outright scorn. he survived in this household for as long as he could and when he couldn't take it any longer, pigeon fled.

with nowhere to go on his own and with no supplies to his name, pigeon worked for what he could and stole what he could not. at first things seemed to be working out, and it even seemed that his parents had come not to care what happened to him. he managed to save enough for passage with a caravan heading into earth territory, but by the time they reached firefly landing on a trading expedition pigeon realized his parents had caught wind of his journey and traveled ahead. they were there waiting, feigning concern.

they wept upon the sight of pigeon, calling out to him with a name that stung his heart. it was gryphon, one of the royal guards, who came to stand up for pigeon. gryphon tore into pigeon's parents, ripping apart their hurtful words and turning their shame right back on them. he personally escorted them out of the landing on the laskas' order, and took pigeon in under his wing until he was comfortable enough to begin working on salvius' farm. now he mentors with salvius, and has two years of farming experience under his belt and the love of a community that cares for who he truly is.
