When will we swim in peace again?"

The queen of the Vortex, a swam of insectoid aliens who had lost their abilitity to make their own food. Every five hundred Sornieth years, when their planet and Sornieth were in alignment, the Vortex fed upon Sornieth's rich waters, devouring anything they could claim.

Eventually, a Coatl named Ecco put a stop to their feasts, and the Vortex Queen followed him home to create a new hive. She still reigns as the mother of the Vortex, and seeks to bring the entire planet under the dominion of her brood. Already, new generations of drones and lesser queens are swimming out of the home hive...
