Amanita

Amanita is having an idle moment between batches of trainees, so she's interested in picking up a bounty.

- Pressing a claw firmly onto the scanner, Amanita nods as a number appears. "32, not unlucky."



"A fine ship indeed, swift and mighty it is true. She led us a merry chase, through the darkest depths of the Mire Nebula. I do not boast, that this was her downfall, for that is my territory and I know it well. None escape my grasp once they pass those borders.

Green may be the terrain and green this ship, but I lurk in the shadows there and see all that pass. We had a dance, this ship and I, and respect was earned by each.

Tempting as it was to take the vessel and bring it to our home berth, the docking bays be already nearly full. Thus I seek only to claim her figurehead, a green and worthy prize for the clan, that we may hold it in a place of pride, to honor this fine opponent."

"This is an odd creature, truly. One would not suspect such an addled showy looking beast of such wiles. Thrice it dodged our net, not once would it engage in blows.

With the Fisher and his bear I chased it long, through strange and eerie places. We had thought to corner it many a time, but always it seems to disappear. As if it walks through walls!

This creature has no form, no mass, it does not slow for any gap but melts as if of mist, and slips past all our grasp."

She stares thoughtfully ahead for an age. Then, seeing the confused and pointed glances at the large jar she has dropped in the receiving area, she continues. "Pickled Soylent." She taps the label.

"Wily it may be, but the beast is also a fool. None wise would eat such a thing, yet this creature crawls in and gorges till it cannot move. Take it. We do not need the jar returned."

She also passes over a data slip. "Gladekeeper knows what they want with it, but it is desired."

"It was a hive in swarm we found, paying full court and duty to their Queen, as is right. Each wayward knight and handmaiden we have here collected, returned to their place and walled within. The beekeeper and his mate have provided us well with this vessel, and swear that it will hold against any clever assault from within."

The "vessel" consists of a woven reed basket, coated in stiff shiny tree sap like the nests built by fae-kind. It vibrates strangely, an almost sonic agitation emanating from all sides. "Handle with Care" has been painted on a sweet little wooden tag strung from the top, decorated with flowers and leaves. On a larger label around the middle has been hastily written in large red script "CAUTION: NOT BEES!!"

"Truly, the keepers of that orchard were most happy to have it gone. Bandits and rogues make up this court, leaving pillage and weeping among the tiny folk of the meadows. Their Queen must be of savage ilk, for they were feared in all the territory round."

The hive seems somewhat light for a full swarm of stingers, but Amanita assures you only those absolutely beyond help were put out of their misery by her fae assistants. "In battle of this scale, always there are the fallen. It was a mercy they did then." Again that unsettling toothy smile...


Her report made, she hands over the hive along with a data slip.

Amanita has rolled into the bounty office with a strange lean to her stride, a wild glint in her eyes. Leaves are caught in her gear, a shiny bauble hangs from one ear, and tinsel is tangled throughout her mane. Slamming a hand down on the counter she grins manically.

"HAH! We have survived the Behemoth!" she cries in victory. She then flicks a bit of soil from her claws and taps the scanner. "Behold! A 4. Surely nothing that shall challenge us as the past week has done."

(we had a rough conquest push for Decorate the Behemoth this past week, Amanita has been in the mire for hours and hours every day)

It would seem Amanita has been taking a vacation. A fishing vacation. How does one bait a hook for space fish? She's not sharing, but she is smiling her toothy smile and using a fishbone to clean her teeth.

"Fear not! Good friend I have not consumed your prey," she chuckles, as the Greenery's messenger droid flits in after her buzzing in disapproval. The little drone deposits a delivery slip for a stasis habitat pod currently being offloaded in the shipping bays.

"No, I have not tasted of their flesh, though they brought me a great hunger with their flight. Many sights we did see, hey, little one?" She definitely didn't eat the fish, but she would still like to keep a trophy of their capture.

"Something to hang upon the wall! And now we must away for the next hunt."

Amanita watches in mild amusement as the droid directs a mid-air full-body frown in her direction and then settles on the scanner to retrieve a new bounty ID.
