Aten is the last to hatch from her egg and the last of her siblings to set off and find her fortune. By some stroke of luck, she finds herself drawn to the fighting rings. The allure of danger calls to her, so she devotes herself to training and fighting and preparing herself for the first fight.

Enthusiasm can only get one so far. The same stroke of luck that found her her passions now seems to turn on her; her first opponent is the meanest, toughest warrior this side of the Wasteland and Aten won't be shown an inch of mercy if she so much as shows weakness.

All of this dawns on her at the apex of the fight, just when the warrior readies their final blow at her bruised and battered self. Her ribs hurt, her shoulders hurt, everything hurts-- the claw comes down, inch by inch, and all she does, all she can do is watch.

zXGblxX.png It is little surprise that hatchlings born to a wastelander and a pirate in the middle of the Scarred Wasteland tend to grow up fast. They are quickly exposed to a life of brutal survival, vicious deaths, and, of course, grand larceny; some may become disillusioned with violence and seek other paths while others dive in headfirst, fully embracing this way of life.

Growing up in an environment as harsh as the Plaguebringer's domain is sure to leave scars, and it is up to them to either choose to hide the marks behind smooth silk and soft cotton or to display them proudly.

But when it comes to independence, there is little doubt that all of them love the thrill of the fight, the rush of adrenaline in their veins, and the howl of the tempest in their ears.
