______ She slept for eons. Time's listless and rhythmic flow keeping her somnolent.

______ Her dreams were not the fanciful sort and were reflections of the world. Eras rose and fell, national borders shifted, and the land changed. Yet, none of this was enough to stir her from slumber.

______ But then a voice called out to her. She did not know who it was or from where, but the voice beckoned, almost pleaded, to her. It would not be silenced by the passage of time and would resurface a lifetime later. Calling, calling...

______ As she roused, her form shifted and stretched. Lights, so bright and colorful, blazed past her before suddenly being enveloped in darkness punctuated by a cadenced beat. Her own heartbeat. Instinct spurred her when the time was prime, and she clawed her way into air and world.

______ Stretching her long form and walking out into the light of day from the den, she gazed at the world with her emerald eyes and inhaled its scent. Looking
