GAOITHE
- Traveling merchant with a hot air balloon cart -

"I trade trinkets for smiles all around the world"

Gaoithe is one of our traveling merchants : she travels the Plateau and even further, with a cart half-carriage, half air balloon, ringing with wind chimes and draging a float of colorful kites.

She trades objets and items with dragon clans and some friendly beastclans, then comes back to Ogrenat to trade them with whoever is interested. She oftens gives out little trinkets and objects to people she visits and can't stop crafting kites, wind chimes and other windy objects.

She collects old maps, ships in bottles, old navigation instruments, old watches and compass, and shiny shells. She will always be happy to trade something for this kind of trinkets !

A hectic arrival

"As you fly your kite high above the clouds, you see a green flash dart across the sky. It goes from cloud to cloud until eventually, it crashes into your kite! The kite and the green blob plummet towards the ground at blinding speed. Making sure to wreck all nearby tree branches. You hear a loud crash and what sounded like a snap? You hope it wasn't a snap, otherwise, you might have a bit of a mess on your hands...

You make your way to the crash site to find a spiral who has entangled herself in your kite. Or what used to be your kite. It's nothing but string and torn paper now! The spiral turns her head as far as she can towards you. "Hey, do you think you can help me out a bit? Please?" You let out a sigh of what seems to be a mixture of relief and agony. Spirals sure are a handful. How does the Windsinger do it?

Regardless, you set her free with one swipe of your claw. "Ah, that's so much better! Thanks mate!" The spiral turns her gaze towards the ruble, her face full of guilt. "That wasn't your kite, was it? I'm super duper sorry!" Suddenly her ears perk up and a shine of excitement starts to appear in her eyes. "I can help you rebuild it! I have a TON of craft stuff back at my lair! Come on let's hurry!" Before you can even say a word you're pulled tail first back to the spiral's lair. Hopefully, this doesn't end with you going missing for several days."

She literally crashed in the clan - which still is one of the stories she likes to tell to newcomers and hatchlings. After a short time with the Explorers' Guild and with the airships crew, Elithe noticed her knack for trading and took her on his boat to teach her a thing or two. When they found in a wind craftsdragons fair what would become her balloon-cart, it was love at first sight. Her next departure from the clan was on her own, and she never regreted it.
She comes back more often than Elithe, who travels longer distances : she enjoys the feeling of going on another adventure, and the feeling of coming back home with gifts for her friends and fellow clan members.
She often travels with her partner, Gwynt, but also takes trip on her own. She likes to travel to places she already visited to say hi to the people she met there as much as discovering new neighbourhoods.

Gwynt is a dragon looking for their place in this world, who arrived in the clan clueless and lost in their own identity. Gaoithe feels Gwynt is the most wonderful marvel she found during her life of travels, for they never stop to amaze her. It's hard to tell which one is following the other on their road.

Even if the traveling merchants are not properly organized in a guild or any kind of hierarchy, they usually consider Elithe as their leader and mentor. His suggestions are rarely discussed : no one want to engage in a debate with this master haggler.

Gaoithe always got along well with the our clan's Windsong, and they share several interest. A few of Acrux's songs were inspired by Gaoithe's travel stories. They enjoy a good girls sleepover together from time to time.

Notus runs on the winds along her cart. She traded him when he was a cub to another traveling marchant for a bottle of colored fireflies. She often says he was a bargain : who would think a life long of windy wolf cuddles is worth a handful of luminous insects ?
