______ "FIVE eggs?!” Aissa’s eyes widened as she double-checked on the newest nest. She sighed. “Oh dear…” The Peryton next to her whimpered as if she had just scolded the fragile creature. “I didn’t say deer, Birte!”, Aissa chuckled. Her familiar never failed to cheer her up, even when she felt overwhelmed by her tasks. Carefully examining each of the eggs, she followed her usual routine: Searching for cracks or other damage, measuring the temperature, listening closely to the quietly beating hearts of the baby dragons inside. Much to her relief, all of the eggs seemed fine. Aissa carefully tucked them in. Her self-knit blankets, cushions & shawls were lovingly ornate, she really had a thing for frills and lace. Others likely considered her job easy, but Aissa knew perfectly well that she fulfilled one of the clan’s most important duties.

______ As the egg tender of the clan, Aissa spends most of her time caring for other dragon's nests. Even though she has some offspring of her own, she considers it her calling to take responsibility for the life of the delicate hatchlings inside. Due to this, she gets little sleep, but Aissa is convinced that in the end, it's totally worth it.
