Biography

Teyris

The beautiful coral that grows interrupted within the Sea of a Thousand Currents has recently become greatly endangered with the combination of the Tidelord's disappearance and the sudden changes in weather.

With constant threats looming above and below, some of the more resilient branches have, with the aid of sporadic pockets of magic, become sentient. When not focused on spreading and repopulating their treasured home, they'll do whatever they must to keep it safe.

Contrary to their brilliant-colored hides, those that live in the Fishspine Coral are excellent with sneak attacks, as many intruders don't notice their initial approach.

Leps have the ability to poison; their toxicity and effects widely vary.

Teyris was swimming through the labyrinthic caverns of the Fishspine Reef, when she first heard the rumors of a new Dragon within her clans territory. She always was a curious one, and so she made her way to the Tsunami Flats. Teyris was very curious. She knew some Imperials roam the territory here, but she never met one, all she knew is, that they are gigantic, even larger than the Guardians native to the Reef.

And so Teyris swam there, carefully, and when she entered the pool, she was almost disappointed. The Dragon within the pool seemed really small. She was all curled up on the egde, her head out of the water, and the eyes closed. She emerged carefully and with each move closer she realized the strange form of the body, head and paws are too big for the body... so this is still a hatchling, a very young one, and it’s already larger than her. A steam of bubbles emerged her mouth when she realizes how big this dragon will be one day.

The Imperial lifted her had and looked at her. The expression on her face was a bit sad. Poor child, all alone here. She swam closer and lifted her head also out of the water, a constant flux of water around her eyes. She tried to smile at the hatchling.

“Hey little one. You don’t look so happy, what’s the matter?” Well it wasn’t the best way to start a conversation, but something was going on with this dragon. The Imperial came closer the movement in the water still that of a dragon not native to this flight, and she seemed lost within the giant pool. She looked around and whispered almost. “I’m homesick...” and after a second look around she leaned her head towards Teyris and whispered with a very low voice “.... and scared of that Bogsneak.” Teyris laughed. “You must be talking about Charybdis, she loves to scare people with her prophecies. Usually it sounds dark and bad, but there’s always a glimpse of light, which she keeps for herself. Don’t be afraid too much.” The little Imperial smiled a bit and then looked at Teyris. “I’m Mithra, I hatched in the territories of the Outpost Clan. Nice to meet you.” The Imperial bowed her head a bit. A gesture unfamiliar to Teyris, but she got the meaning. “I’m Teyris, I’m one of the Coral-Gardeners in the Fishspine Reef. Nice to meet you too” Although it felt strange she also bowed her head, and the little Imperial seemed to look a bit better. “I have never left the Seas of a Thousand Currents, do you mind me coming here more often and listen to some stories from the Outpost Clan and the Sunbeam Ruins?” Mithra shook her head “I’d love too!” Teyris stayed a while, and talked with Mithra about the Sea of a Thousand currents, telling her all about the Reef, the Pools, the Trench and the Oracles. The hatchling felt better with each word, but time flews by and Teyris had to leave.

She came again as she promised, and each time she brought something for Mithra from the reef and talked to her, so that she would learn the way of the Water Flight. Mithra listened carefully and in exchange she told Teyris all she knew about the Sunbeam Ruins. One day Teyris brought her a little part of a coral. Very small and with faded colors. “The corals usually grow in the shallow parts of our realm. Where the water is warm and the sunlight is still bright. But since the Tidelord is gone, something changed and a lot of corals stopped growing and started to fade.” Teyris put the coral carefully on a stone next to Mithra, the Imperial has grown very fast, doubel the size of a coatl, and she was still growing. Mithra looked at it, curious she has changed, she had markings now on her body, and she said she lost the light within her. But Teyris didn’t knew how this could happen, she still was a children of the Lightweaver, she was now touched by the Tidelord and able to live in his realm, but she still was Lightweavers child. Mithra blew a little stream at the coral, warm like sheself, and little small arms came out to grab some of the nutrions in the water around. Teyris smilled, although faded the coral wasn’t dead, just as she wanted to explain, what corals are, to Mithra, she started humming, a soft sound like the touch of light. And it was light and warmth that were emitting of her body. Teyris looked at the coral and she could see how the colors came back and how the coral grew a bit. She looked at Mithra with wide opened eyes and mouth. Then she left as fast as she could. What would the other Cora-Gardeners say to this?
