Tsubasa is a son of Haruka and Itachi. His father died before his birth.
He grew up in a small village and was mostly trained by his mother, but later aims to become a Shinobi of Tsuki no kuni. As his brother he is able to use the Amayaka Kekkei-Genkai, being able to manipulate others' bodies by touching them, as well as the Sharingan. He can use fire-based Nin-Jutsu, but has only a small amount of chakra and has to train a lot to master new Jutsus. Mostly he sticks to the usage of weapons. In contrary to his brother he is not very good in the usage of the Amayaka Kekkei-Genkai and also admits to be the weaker fighter of the two brothers. But Tsubasa is a good tactician, always planning two steps ahead and never starting a fight without thinking about it thoroughly at first. Tsubasa often has to save his brother from his own reckless actions, but he is quite used to keeping a close eye on him. Sometimes he even enjoys watching Karas struggle with others because of his boisterous character before intervening. This is also the reason why he often backs down in quarrels with his brother to let him have his way – and to tell him afterwards that his solution would have been better. Tsubasa tends to question everything and often gets lost in details. He is humorous but takes a longer time as his brother to open up to strangers.
Sometimes he gets very eager in training to the extent that he does not want to leave the training grounds before mastering the task he gave himself. Tsubasa loves to learn new things and likes to hear stories from strong Shinobi of other countries.
He learned Kuchiyose at a young age and is able to summon the black dragon Hosaki with whom he formed a contract. Since using the summoning technique tires Tsubasa a lot he only calls for Hosaki when he has to end fights quickly or sees himself getting stuck otherwise.
Towards his brother Tsubasa is very protective. If he sees himself forced to defend his brother he may even act unreasonable.
