Zephyr’s dexterous claws and attention to detail has made him the most famous kite-maker in Sonieth, with clans from all regions - from the Viridian Labyrinth up north all the way down to the Southern Icefield - gathering at his modest shop in The Cloudsong. While the adults clamoured over his great kites and craftsmanship, the hatchlings shyly pulled as his wings. The large imperial would bend over, and from his large hands, he would reveal a tiny kite, no bigger than his thumb. The hatchlings were always fond of his unique sayings (“Bless WindPapa!” “Oh, NoodleDad!”) and his generosity. When the windy weather of March brought them and their tiny kites to the skies, they made up their mind to give him something in return. After all, he was the one who taught them how to be gentle, how to settle disagreements and understand one another (not to mention free kites!). When the 24th rolled around, many would celebrate the Mistral Jamboree, but the children knew what to do. Carefully wrapping presents with their small claws, they ran over to Zephyr and yelled as loudly as they can, “Happy Birthday!” It is rumoured that the old imperial beamed so brightly that not even the jolly laugh of the Windsinger can rival the happy tears that came forth. He hugged them all, said so many “Thank you”s that the hatchlings had to make him stop, and opened all the teeny weeny presents carefully with his big claws. The next morning, a giant kite painted with a scene of several hatchlings with presents and an imperial flew over the sky… who meticulously made it?

• Made kites as a hobby, but due to the great attention he received for his skills it became his full-time job before he knew it
• His mate passed away many years ago, and he still holds her dear to his heart. A love heart shaped kite flies in her memory.
• Used to work as a nest carer, and absolutely loves playing with hatchlings. Many dragons consider him their godfather.
