♛ HISTORY Lineage Influence: Nature Nightcallers are oddly among the most gentle of their kin, but still hold a primal and dangerous energy - beyond that of even your average Nature dragon. They are deeply attuned to the cycles of the earth around them, and the cycles of life and death in nature itself. Through the initiative, Pulchrior and his mate, Kidara, find clans who are in need of new warriors and send their hatchlings there for training. These children, called the Night Warriors, form a network that connects and protects the many clans where they live. Advocate: Mediums who help ghosts by taking care of whatever situation or event is keeping them tethered to this world. Perhaps the best explorers of the Underworld apart from Mourners, seeking ways to help ghosts move on. Crippling Overspecialization: They are better at socially interacting with ghosts than other Memento's, but that frequently comes at the cost of losing even the most basic social skills with regular humans. Advocates who aren't careful might end up seeing everything in terms of relationships and anchors, becoming barely able to realize they exist otherwise, or worse, start believing that the dead matter more than the living.

♛ STORY Lore Outline: • Was once the night-shift guard for the perimeter of the kingdom, but became restless as no battles took place • Began to sneak off at night to seek out creatures to antagonize and hostile dragons to fight • As a Nature-born Nightcaller, he became obsessed with the balance of life and death • He sought more and more creatures to kill, addicted to watching them and documenting their slow, meaningless struggle against death. Meanwhile his own mind began to melt away due to overuse of his magic. • One night he was ambushed by an entire clan of Maren while keeping lookout on the docks. They dragged him deep into the sea with no warning, drowning him as payback for all of their brethren he’d tortured. But he would not go down alone. In one final spectacular movement he cast a self-destructive spell, obliterating both himself and his captors. His Nightcall rang out across the depths, but it was too late for him. • Music. Ethereal chords tempted him from sleep and he awoke to find himself enveloped in liquid Darkness. The music rang into his ears and wrapped around his mind like silk on bare skin. Then it spoke to him: ”Do you want to live?” Without pause he responded to the voice in his mind, not thinking to question its source. ”Yes.” The music grew louder and faster, more ominous and intimidating until the sound began to literally scrape his mind. All around him was nothing but the sound of screeching notes and snapping violin strings. And then, silence. Once again, he was surrounded by liquid darkness. But this time he could feel it. The cold chilled him; the lack of oxygen burned his lungs. He swam upwards until he broke the Surface, gasping for air and for life. The Docks. It was like he had never left. But unfortunately for this desperate drake, he had not considered the consequences of coming back to life. His body was restored, but his mind was not. |
