The Dark Thief Mysterious, Lithe and Morose The Viridian Labyrinth is home to as many types of dragons as there are flora and fauna. Every bright blossom hides a dark, velvety shadow. It is no surprise that a dragon like Taro would be drawn to such a place. Some believe he is a thief. His homey chamber in the great castle is scattered with strange relics and valuables, his collections rivalling Kusasa's own. Some are nothing but pretty trash, broken glass or a shattered pottery. The real valuables are hidden beneath his mattress. But where they come from, or where they are bound to, no one can quite say. No one cares to investigate it, either, as Taro is free with his earnings and happy to buy the hatchlings treats. However, there, among scraps of parchment and vials of disappearing ink, is an item of great interest: an orb. The Gladekeeper’s Eye is a hefty, dark emerald shot through with shadows and flaws. If he were to sell it, Taro would make a handsome fortune. Perhaps a handsome enough one to stop his supposed thieving ways forever. But something about the orb… He can often be found gazing deep into its verdant, crystalline depths, as if studying the way the light swirls and fogs the inside. Perhaps it’s why he has an uncanny sense of what you’re about to say. If one was to walk into Taro's chamber, you would likely find him at his desk, hunched over, studying his orb or scribbling notes to himself, his lakelight weaver familiar roosting in a nest of thrown away notes, old leaves and feathers . His room inside the castle is relatively cramped compared to his size, but this is what he prefers. The smell of smoked leaves and flowers lingers in the room - apparently it keeps the spirits away, although they're be unlikely to do much harm if he let them in anyway. The small amount of light he allows to creep in through the over grown ivy that covers his windows is just barely enough to see where you are going, let alone to read the notes and messy drawings sprawled across the walls. "The prophecy you seek is written on a different scroll.Good luck finding it!" |
