 The sand was hot upon his feet as the sun burned bright overhead. He looked up at the blinding sun, knowing that soon he was going to have to stop and rest for a little while. Shade was hard to come by out here, so he would have to take advantage of the next oasis he stumbled upon.

He didn't like to rest though, for he was looking for someone. He had lost his mate days ago in a sandstorm. He has been wandering the desert the entire time looking for her. Footprints have been impossible for him to follow due to the wind and constant shifting of the sand. He had no idea where she could have gone, and has been mainly relying only on his instincts. Every once in a while he would let out a call for her that would echo for miles across the desert.

After a couple more hours of walking, he was extremely fortunate to stumble upon a large jungle oasis. He looked back towards the desert and let out one final call before pushing through the thick leafy ferns to access the water and shade that the oasis offered. The drastic drop in temperature could be felt upon entering the oasis, and it was nice to be out of the hot sun. After getting a drink of the cool water, he decided to lay down and rest awhile by the flowing stream.
