Orochimaru was a Shinobi from Konohagakure. Even as a kid he was described as genius. He lost his parents at a young age, and although he still had friends as his teammates, he grew distant. The war made him to disdain the short lifespan of humans and he started to experiment with immortality and modifications on the human body.
Since his experiments were prohibited in Konoha, he left the village and continued his research elsewhere. Orochimaru was able to take over the bodies of others to prolong his own life and youth. He was able to gather followers and even founded his own village, Otogakure. For a short time he was also part of Akatsuki, but only to accomplish his own goals. He met Itachi among the Akatsuki again whom he knew as a young boy from Konoha, and saw the adolescent as his perfect body. However, Itachi defeated Orochimaru without much effort and Orochimaru finally left Akatsuki, concentrating on his village and his own followers. Character: ❖ - charismatic - ❖ ❖ - arrogant - ❖ ❖ - manipulative - ❖ ❖ - two-faced - ❖ Orochimaru became obsessed with gathering as many strong bodies as possible to learn their abilities whenever he took a new body. As he was not able to capture Itachi, he became interested in taking his younger brother in. Sasuke was trained by Orochimaru for some years before betraying and killing his master as soon as he felt strong enough. Later Orochimaru is revived through Sasuke as the young Uchiha needed Orochimaru's ability to revive the four former Hokage. Seeing how his right hand, Kabuto, had failed after his death, Orochimaru was forced to rethink some of his beliefs. Instead of following his own ideals alone he became more interested in seeing where Sasuke's path would bring the boy. Although he seems mostly self-centered, he does care about the people close to him. He was sad when he heard of the death of his childhood friend and cares about Sasuke's well-being. |
