take 1discussion btwn me and Strukla abt their ideas for potential lore for this boyo:

I'm rereading your explanation for the ambassadors and everything (because this is important and fun) and he kind of looks like he's not quite sure what he's doing (it's the eyes, I'm telling you)

and considering you've "met" him while in the Water area, I'd guess he was sent there by his own Clan/lands to deliver a message of sorts to a certain leader in the Thousand Currents (or perhaps to a leader of one of the Beastclans residing there? this can go either way, but I might just go with the Beastclans, might give me more to work with) and your fellas bumped into him and were like "what's a fire-type Charizard dragon doing here in the land of pools and warm bubbly water" and he was like "Idk just delivering a message Pete should get back home by three it's lunchtime his mom called" and your Clan was like: dude you're a deliverer, is Pete in trouble?
- Yeah, mom'll be ******, I'll have to calm both of them down else there'll be a fight.
"Dude, what you're doing is "ambassador work.""
- I'm doing what?
"Ambassador work."
- ...Alright, if you say so, not that I have any idea what it means.

So let's say someone from your clan (a more experienced ambassador) helped out this poor runt in his delivering a message and calming things down (perhaps there was a war to break out between two opposing Beastclans or something, maybe the message he was delivering was the wrong one but your guys figured it out beforehand) and things went smoothly after all.
So he was like "so this is how you do it, huh" and your dragons were "yeah, you really don't know anything about your job, huh?"
- "Well not much, no. ._."
"Come join us, we'll teach you" and his home clan was all "hell yeah he'll get some free training I MEAN GO BROTHER, BE FREE, COME BACK TO US WHEN YOU REACH AMBASSADOR ENLIGHTEMENT" and everyone was "k cool" and he just never came back and he's still kind of "wth am I supposed to do now" but his familiar and/or someone from your clan mentors him and it's going rather well.

Again I'm writing in memes but I'll give this some thought throughout the day and I'll write it out more seriously of course, and you can tell me what do you think about this whole clusterf.

And if you/we feel the "OH NOES WE'LL GO TO WAR IF THIS IS NOT DELIVERED/SMOOTHED OUT" thing is too used, we can always say the message he was delivering and the thing that needed smoothing out was...

...an arrangement of marriage between beastclans? I don't know if Rocs and Centaurs can get married but... There can be friendships and likings between species, right? Or simply kind of pen-pal thing between two individuals that are usually not in quite good terms species-wise (I'm turning this plot into a Disney movie I'm sorry) but this love we have will help everyone overcome their differences and prevent possible inner-land bloodbath.

okay i like this a lot so far JDSHFHDSDG his whole apprenticeship and presence in my clan was just a "wha... aa?? okay. sure" and he just follows people pushing him around and hes actually a softe boye and just doin what hes told and doin his best but very confused and has noidea how he got here HJFDS98F0WOIAFDSFJ

re: ur last message thanks i'm grinning rly hard you're honestly hilarious hhgHGHDHFDJKLDSHF god bless u... the message he's delivering can be any number of things it literally could just be trade sh*t or whatever business between two allied clans JFHJDHF
Strukla: Take 1 wrote:
  • seeing as Harpies occupy the Fire terriories, among others, there's a kind of an alliance between them and the reigning Fire Clans; they both help defend the volcanoes from intruders and often cooperate in battles
  • Samir is an ambassador apprentice in his Clan, not a very good one yet but he's still young and has only just begun recently
  • so far he hasn't yet left the Clan's borders with someone on a mission but stays inside and spends day in day out listening and repeating what makes a good dragon ambassador, practicing his lines, trying out his temper etc. (for we all know you have to be a good communicator, you have to be patient, think on your feet etc.)
  • one day a certain lower-ranking Harpie came up to the Clan but didn't go straight to the leaders for help but actively seeked out someone "less important" for the business she needed help with could also be considered "less important" aka "more private than that concerning the whole Beastclan"
  • she accidentally saw Samir sitting alone and, knowing his apprenticeship, considered him perfect for the role of mediator as, you see, an opposing Maren Beastclan member took advantage of an egg falling out of it's nest on a cliff and took off with this particular Harpie's beloved egg, taking it into the deep parts of the ocean
  • Samir was, at first, opposing the private suggestion to help as he considered this incident still be important enough for both Clans to be involved all the way to their respective leaders, but the Harpie pleaded until he accepted under the pretense she would be blamed to have been careless of her own nest and that, despite the Harpie-Maren intolerance, this would not be judged as an important enough event to start an all-out war just because of one egg
  • so Samir noted a few acquitances he'll just leave for a few hours and climbed down to where the sea touches the high volcanic cliffs
  • it took a while to locate and get the particular Maren Shark Hunter to swim out to the surface and talk with Samir
  • in the end, the Harpie managed to get it's egg back but things did not go down in a peaceful, civillized manner (partially due to Samir's inexperience but mostly due to the open antagonism between the two beasts and their lack of will to communicate and cooperate with each other)
  • Samir ended up taking a few blows from when the fight between the two beasts ensued and got poisoned in the process by known Maren poison
  • too weak to climb back up the cliffs, he staggered around for a short while, dazed and in pain, before collapsing into unconsciousness
  • unknown to him, he fell near the body of water and the tides slowly dragged him closer until he ended up in the Sea of a thousand currents, where he would have drowned had there not been the ______ (dragon/beast/familiar, your choice here) who dragged him out and quickly realized the boy's in for a slow and painful death, whether from drowning or the poison he received
  • the only thing Samir remembers from waking up for a moment or two inbetween the time he fell unconscious and the time he found himself on a sandy beach, alone yet feeling better, was a pair of intense blue eyes staring at him
  • so, as we now know, our boy was saved by someone or something and, still weakened but free of poison, he found himself on the shore of the Sea but... it was the wrong shore, possibly on quite the opposite part from his home, even
  • confused and worried for his future, Samir wandered around until he stumbled upon your clan where he revealed he just started his apprenticeship for an ambassador, but leaving out the part where he failed to resolve the incident between beasts and the blue-eyed someone who quite possibly saved his life (just a guess as he was too sick and dazed to really get a grasp of what was happening at the time)
  • when asked by someone how did a fire-natured Wildclaw get all the way here, he says he got "lost" while looking for someone whom he was supposed to help or how he was supposed to go to "the Viridian Forest" or "Dragonhome"; some place far enough the one inquiring will go "Really? But that's hella far!" and forget all about it later on
  • in reality, he'd very much like to go back home (at least at first) but is conflicted about how returning might reveal that he actually failed his first real task and how, in that case, he'll probably get kicked out from both Clans for being a useless runt (he might be overthinking this part as I think no Clan would kick out their kin for one mistake but hey, you never know)
  • so in the end, Samir keeps to himself about failing the mediation task and keeps on travelling with the newfound Clan, torn up between avoiding the Fire lands and the life he led until recently (reasoning above) and returning to it, for it was his home
  • along the way he's continuing his apprenticeship in this Clan although he has less faith into it being his true calling (perhaps your members can turn his thoughts around, hmmn? will they manage or will they fail?) and secretly looking out in case he'll recognize those blue eyes somewhere while travelling the Sornieth

I'll see what I can make out of the second idea I had which is mostly a variation of the theme above ^ in a way he's actually a Prince/high-ranking Fire official/royalty/a very rich and spoiled and overall bored dragon and kind of a ditz/klutz that simply grew bored of everyone pampering him and took to sneaking out one night in hopes he'll travel the world as an anonymous WC, who just happened to stumble upon your clan (although travelling all the way from the Ashfall to the Sea and not meeting any other Clan along the way is kind of a stretch innit') and so when he meets your guys they're all like:
"Hey, who're you?"
and he's all:
"...Well I'm-a... I'm a dragon."
And when asked what's he doing here and why's he got all those pretty necklaces and ornaments (those things attract customers like thieves, man, jeez, loosen the bling a bit, k?!) he's all "'cause I'm a very important Role/Dragon" but can't say he's royalty 'cause he'll get pampered to bits again so he goes "emissaries are important, right? I'll go with that. I'M AN EMISSARY." And everyone're like "'k that's cool" and the girls are all going "OwO he's cute" etc.
Kai wrote:
ima start by saying all your ideas are amazing and you're givin me hella writing inspiration O^O!!!!!

the first idea is super well thought out and i'm very much leaning towards that one, especially bc I already have some runaway royalty in my clan lol.

I'm debating whether Samir even gets the Harpie's egg back at all tbh, but idk if I like the idea of him having a temper. I kinda grew fond of the idea of him being soft and clueless, possibly not very assertive sdlkfjasdfjs maybe that's what he needs to work on- sounding more sure of himself and less nervous.

I also don't know how Samir would end up in the ocean bc dam feels bad that the Harpie wouldn't even try to help him LKDSJFASLKDFJ

i'm also debating him being discovered all sick by my clan's surgeon, but that takes away the mystery of those Eyes TM~ and also my clan is literally in the sea of a thousand currents rn. how? idk. probably magical bubbles. IJFDOSDFLKSDF idk how non-water dragons live in the Sea anyway

also there's a slight problem with him traveling the world bc my clan is currently IN the Ashfall Waste so... JDSFOSIFDLKj

and awww omg it sounds like the bean has anxiety if he thinks his clan will kick him out for one little talk not going well

dwdwdwdw about how long it was it's good ideas and i enjoy hearing about em <3 ik im p talkative too so dont WORRY DSJLFKAJS

also the Ashfall Waste borders the Sea of a Thousand Currents. I'm traveling in a pattern that makes sense according to the world map LOL. So it wouldn't be that much of a stretch. Just crossing the border. Aka diving off the shore lkjfdslakjf

also regarding the girls goin OwO he's cute
im really frickin gay and i project this super hard onto all my dragons so probably like 75% of the clan is goin "OwO he's cute" in that scenario LMAO

and you see that I also use "also" a lot jafois -fingerguns-
Strukla wrote:
I presume the two glared at each other while Samir tried pleading and reasoning and slowly it just got worse with him ending up ignored and the two getting into a clawfight (where the Maren has some serious advantage as she can dive underwater unless the Harpie manages to grab her and pull her out to the surface 'cause lore says Maren are like fish, can breathe above water but for a very short time so it's a s-hitshow) and Samir probably wanted to separate the two.

And the Maren probably had to make quick dives every minute so she can grab some air to resurface and talk which made the Harpie more anxious because what if she dives "for air" but actually leaves with the egg and never resurfaces again?! lying beast so there's that. The tension is high.

Samir got hurt either by taking a blow not meant for him or out of Maren's spite because of "meddling dragons". As for why he didn't get hel, either:
  • the two kept on fighting and the Harpie didn't even realize at first
  • the Maren prevented her from helping him (I don't believe this one too much because of strong alliances between them and dragons but it's a possibility)
  • the Harpie did rush in to help but couldn't do much except leave him and rush over to his Clan to alert them but by the time anyone came he was already gone

So yeah, the egg might've been lost forever or eventually discarded during the fight so Harpie managed to retrieve it in the end, idk. He would probably not know whatever happened though so it might burden his mind for a while. Egg does equate a (possible loss of a) living being, after all. He might try conversing with future Harpies he stumbles upon along the way just to hear what happened in the end (you could also use this in case any other Harpie noticed his mysterious savior dragon/beast thing if you want)).

As for him ending up in the sea, if they're currently in the Ashfall territory, then scrap that whole part and leave him losing consciousness right then and there, on the shore or the lower cliff part, as you see fit; somewhere the waves can't reach him and pull him into the sea.

Hey, the surgeon may be a good resolve for all this, too! I added the "mysterious eyes" because of the area I thought it all happened (Water) and to give him a reason to travel to the Viridian or wherever, but this is actually much easier to work with, imho. In the end he may successfully avoid meeting his clan (this time through) by hiding or covering himself while they all pass OR he could just confront his troubles straight away, realize he will be/won't be kicked out, find out what happened with the egg/Harpy in the end and possibly get permission to travel for a while with your Clan as a means of personal growth.

I see it going either way and with many more variations to the theme for you to explore (if he successfully avoids his Clan in particular this time around, he'll still be slightly suspicious because he knows the area so well. Or perhaps he'll pourpousely pretend he doesn't as to not reveal himself? Your pick, your resolve.
As for how your Clan IS in the sea... You're not making this easy you know. XD
I'll leave that one on you for now. XD Bubbles aren't such a bad idea, honestly. Or perhaps they're staying in the shore and only the water-origin dragoms are going in the sea while a couple of others are climbing the volcanic cliffs to converse with the Fire Clans? Idk.

Awh, all the boys and girls going "OwO" over him I can completely understand, he's hella pretty. XD Perhaps he finds a male mate, mmn? It sounds cute either way.
Don't know what gender your surgeon is but I bet he's got pretty. eyes. see what I did there
Kai wrote:
that all sounds really really good!! I’m probably going to write it up and credit you for the idea qwq thank you so much!!!!!!
Oh yeah the Sea has a shore doesn’t it..... they probably just traveled all the way around it LOL it’s just that I was in water flight at the time I got him (I’m in fire flight now) and on the world map the regions in water are underwater, which I’ve always wondered about lmaoooo
