If there was one thing Bloodwing was good at, it was fighting. Trained from hatching in the ways of war, he was well in his way to following in his father’s footsteps. At least, that was the plan.

Bloodwing didn’t mind all the fighting that came with being a mercenary, really, he just always felt there was something more for him to be doing. And how do you tell that to your father, warlord of your clan, when he’s so proud of who you’ve become? So he kept quiet and played the good little soldier, telling no one of his secret dreams and ambitions.

Then, one day his clan stopped in at an odd little clan on the southern coast of the Ashfall Waste and Bloodwing met Chalen. Like him, Chalen was the son of the leader, and like him, Chalen had different dreams. But unlike Bloodwing, Chalen wasn’t afraid to speak up about them. During their short stay the two young mirrors spent a great deal of time together, speaking of hopes and dreams, of secrets and wishes.

By the time the Hammertooth Clan was ready to move on to the next battle, Bloodwing wasn’t so sure he wanted to go with them. So, with Chalen’s support, he confronted his father, and much to his surprise, was given Rickery’s blessing in staying and becoming a clan guard! They shared a fond farewell, and still write to each other regularly.

Now, Bloodwing has found himself a new purpose as a protector of Clan Flitt. He is still learning the ins and outs of his new home, but with his quick mind and Chalen to help him he is finding his footing. He’s even managed to ingratiate himself with Daenero and Cinan, the clan trainers, learning and teaching new moves to each other and helping with their duties. He’s taken Chalen on as his personal student, though the two seem to spend less time fighting and more time engaged in other pursuits. The two are rarely apart, though Bloodwing is starting to worry that he shouldn’t have talked quite so much about his travels, as the young clan heir has lately begun plotting to leave and see the world for himself.

"Dad, we really need to talk about this! A clear chain of command is important if we're going to survive!" Bloodwing tried to hold back his frustration. He had the utmost respect for his father, but sometimes he could be so...so...infuriating!
Instead of responding, however, Rickery was inspecting something he'd found on the battlefield. Bloodwing paused, trying to figure out what was so important.
"Dad, what are you-is that a bikini?! Dad! No!"
