Dragon Log

After a slow start, this little Tundra from another Arcane clan grew up to become a gorgeous adult. An instant favorite among the other dragons, she had been certain what she would call herself from the beginning... until she grew up. Now she is torn: is she a racing Comet, or a stunning Meteor? Perhaps she needs another day or two... but regardless, she will certainly be named for the beautiful "messengers of the sky."

8-9-14: A After a discussion with Moonshadow, who pointed out that Comets are traditionally fiery, she decided she prefers the name Meteor. She also is considering favoring Moonshdow's company... and Sunfire does not seem too upset... perhaps there will be a new mating soon? Or maybe Cosmos.... he's a friendly dragon, too...

10-2-14: Meteor's friend the Masked Harpy has Awakened! This is a wonderful day for her, especially since Runemaster's Warcat Protector Awoke at the same time. Perhaps the two familiars can explore the territory together?

10-20-14: Though Rune's Protector headed out some time ago, the Masked Harpy does not seem to be overly concerned about catching up... and has brought Meteor another Harpy friend to bond with the in the meantime. The Stonewatch Harpy seems a bit preoccupied, however. Perhaps some comet-tracking will cheer her up?

1-17-15: The Stonewatch Harpy has Awakened! Perhaps now she will settle down and stop wandering all over the caves....

3-12-15: The wandering of the Harpies turned up an interesting result: They found a Greater Sandstrike hidden in the sand on a beach near the Clan's original caves, and brought it back to the Observatory with them. Oddly enough, the snake-like being and Meteor seem to be getting along quite well....

6-10-15: The Greater Sandstrike has Awakened... and then promptly burrowed right back into the ground again. Apparently, he isn't much for chatting or celebrating....

1-24-16: While enjoying herself at the Ice Festival, Meteor ran across an odd creature. Intrigued, she used a special spell she had heard about, called "pokeball" and captured the being, and Bibarel promptly decided that he liked being around her...

1-31-18: To the shock of everyone--except, apparently, a very happy AquaRegia and Cadmia--Meteor has announced her intention to enter into the Sornieth Winter Games, as a Speed Skater! Well, the name does make a little sense... ( )

While most of the Clan is reeling from the shock of Meteor apparently having wanted to compete for years—she never said a word, after all—and Verdigris is ranting about having been roped into a training regime, that prevented him from being able to keep a “proper protective eye” on his sister, Emerald is far more intrigued by the fact that Meteor managed to convince the Snowflake Nymph to make a cold area. It seems that Meteor may just have solved Emerald’s three-year problem of how to make snow…and gained another friend in the process...

...In the meantime, however, Meteor has entered her Event... ( )

2-8-18: For the first time, none of the dragons of the Clan have won an Event at the Sornieth Winter Games. Meteor is understandably disappointed at her own defeat, but not as much as the Clan feared that she would be. She has proven that she can compete, after all, and is already looking forward to next year's Winter Games...

2-1-19: A full year has gone by since Meteor first tried her luck on the Speed Track at the Crystalline Gala's Sornieth Winter Games, and now she is trying again... ( )

2-9-19: Once again, Meteor failed to win a medal. A crash caused by several newbies to the sport created an unfortunate roadblock early on, and Meteor had to go out of her way to get around it, eating up time she simply didn't have. Nevertheless, she made a good showing of it, and is confident that she will certainly do better next year—and there will be a next year, regardless of the comments some of the Clan are making about dangerous sports at even more dangerous speeds. That fluke crash was not her fault, and could not have been predicted by anyone. Meteor will simply have to adjust her training regimen, to account for the possibility of unexpected barriers during the race…

4-11-19: It seems that magical auras can manifest in more than one way. Instead of acquiring a Halo, Meteor has acquired a Celestial Attendant comet! The being just appeared out of nowhere, in the act of orbiting the Tundra, as if he had been there all along....

1-28-20: Meteor has journeyed to the Sornieth Winter Games again this year, still looking for that elusive medal in Speed Skating. This time, however, she has another task as well, as she is chaperoning young Imbolc in the Guardian’s first journey to the Crystalline Gala. Imbolc is hoping for a medal of her own, in Figure Skating. The Festival should be even more interesting than usual, with the young one coming along…

1-29-20: “Interesting” is not, perhaps, the word that Meteor should have been using to describe her hopes for the Crystalline Gala. It appears that her thoughts caught the Arcanist’s attention, and he responded. How else can Meteor--or any of the Clan, for that matter--explain the fact that Imbolc’s sister, Samhain, managed to set half the cave system alight with her odd (and apparently extremely dangerous) “Fire Flowers”? Now Meteor is going to have to compete earlier than she originally intended to, and she is NOT happy about it at all. ( ) It seems that Samhain is going to get quite the talking-to, once Meteor comes home…

2-8-20: The talking-to has been temporarily postponed, as Meteor managed to convince Duskshadow, the Clan Mother, to allow the competitors to remain until after the Awards Ceremony was done. ( ) This has enabled Meteor’s temper to cool somewhat—though the fact that her anger may have been the reason that she did not win a Medal this year is definitely not improving things. It seems that this usually gentle Tundra has limits, after all, and an irresponsible Chaos Mage trying to burn down the caves is well beyond what she will tolerate…

1-20-21: The year has turned, and Meteor is once again travelling to the Sornieth Winter Games. This year, the whole Clan is travelling with her, as everyone wishes to be there to honor Emerald, when she receives her special medal for attending all 5 years of the games. Meteor herself is hoping to acquire a Medal of her own, in her favorite Speed Skating Event…

1-27-21: Meteor has entered her usual Event, and she and her Celestial attendant are hurrying quickly through the Blizzard-like conditions—courtesy of Winter Strom Crystal—to the Starting Point for the Speed Skating Event. ( , ) Along the way, Meteor will have to remember to stop to register for the new Sornieth Winter Games Costume Contest, and pick up her new badge… ( )

1-30-21: Once again, Meteor did not win the Speed Skating Contest. Still, it was fun to compete, and see all the usual returnees. And this year the Costume Contest added a nice addition to the Games, even if she did not win that, either. Meteor is hopeful that that Event will return next year—especially since she really likes the new badge…
