Biography
Likes Aretha Franklin's music.
If you don't know who that is, you better look her up.
Seriously though.
You better.
In the Hive, all hatchlings born with runes were killed. Dragonets with runes were resistant to assimilation, due to the natural magic coursing through their veins. Vanir survived only because his runes blended in with his scales. His magic was subdued by the Assimilation fluid, but it grew stronger as he aged. His internal magic strained against the Hive, working to free the Drone enslaved by its dark power.
Then one day, he awoke.
Vanir opened his eyes, to find himself working amongst others all the same. His talons froze. And it was his decision to stop. A laugh bubbled up from his throat, and it was his choice to laugh. His head was clear, his heart was open, his mind was free.
But as Vanir looked around at all of the clouded eyes, he realized that he was alone. None of the other Drones were free of the imprisonment. Not yet.
And as Vanir spread his wings,
He vowed to help the Drones enslaved by the Hive.
He vowed to use his gift to cleanse others of imprisonment.
He vowed to find a way to free others from the shackles of monotony and despair.
He was Vanir, and he would stop the Hive from spreading its creeping tendrils any further.
