Biography
Paradox is a being of chaos. A descendant of Naomi the Glitch Queen, and of Ignis the Beast. Some say she's not a dragon at all. That she is a force, or an entity, merely posing as a dragon in order to sow her seeds of disorder amongst dragonkind. Whatever she is, bad things tend to happen to anyone or anything in her presence. She almost seems to enjoy watching the fallout.
This is what ultimately led to her being driven out of her birth clan in the Sea of a Thousand Currents. The dragons there just could not stand all the misfortune and the anarchy that befell them shortly after her birth. They saw that she alone seemed unaffected, and that she found joy in the hardships the other dragons went through. So they sent her away. Lo and behold, things improved a little bit after her departure, but the damage was done to the clan, and it has fallen into disrepair since.
Paradox, however, remained an unnamed dragon. She joined a new clan, of other misfit dragons who could not seem to find a home. Her chaotic influence affected these dragons as well. Many of them leaving and new ones joining all the time, the place was already rife with disorganization. This was the reason she chose such a clan. The perfect environment for a dragon of chaos.
Eventually, though, she felt it was time to move on from her temporary home. She received an invitation from a traveler to join their clan. An amicable clan living in the Starwood Strand. Paradox eagerly accepted the offer, and came home with the friendly stranger. Her first actions were to steal from her new clan's hoard and purchase some items that allowed her to alter her appearance. She changed her feathers from dull gray to brilliant oranges and yellows. She changed the pattern on her feathers as well. She dressed herself in golden clothing, and awaited a dragon to take the bait.
It didn't take too long for her bright new colors to catch the eye of a handsome coatl. Just as she hoped she would. She made it obvious that the interest was mutual, and before long, the pair took to the nesting grounds and had three eggs. These three eggs hatched into a trio of skydancer hatchlings that she named Aatma, Occlusion, and Polybius. The hatchlings were then hurried off by Paradox to join other clans, and to bring chaos to them as well.
Meanwhile, Paradox herself was watching gleefully the discontentment of the dragons in her own clan. Sunshine, the father of her hatchlings, was distraught to learn that they had all left while he was away. But he would have bigger things to worry about once his mate, Uzume, discovered he had been an unfaithful mate to her and that he fathered another dragon's clutch. Sunshine swore off Paradox, and would not so much as look her way, once he found out that it was her who rushed the hatchlings off to find new clans.
Since then, Paradox has been unable to find another mate. But for now, she is content with just watching the strife in her clan caused by her presence. The rest of the clan has yet to catch on. They have no idea that Paradox is the cause of all their recent troubles. The bad luck, the strained relationships, the unhappy dragons, the quarreling, the tension between the leaders. And she intends to keep it that way. She may stick around this clan for a while, until they chase her off as her birth clan did, or she may grow bored and move on sooner, and search for a new clan to bring trouble to. She doesn't know yet. Part of being so chaotic means that she plans very little, and mainly just acts on impulse.
