Of the Queen of The Melohn

__________________________________________________________________________________
"They will not force us, they will stop degrading us, they will not control us,
WE WILL BE VICTORIOUS"
__________________________________________________________________________________

What have they told you... What lies have they poured into your head? Don't listen to a word they say - they are deity followers just like the rest. They fill your head with the lies that the deities mean well, that they are here for us and here to help us. Lies! I am Trine. I, along with the rest of Melohn, believe in the prophecy. Our own oracles have sights not clouded by the gods and they have seen a way to create a dragon powerful enough to rival the original four - Arenji.
I will release the Arenji upon the world. It already influences our daily lives, determining what the gods could not, such as how many eliminates we recieve - or how many bosses show up when we are already weak in the coliseum. I have given my soul to the energies that feed it, becoming a host for Arenji's power and I was blessed with Level 0 power. When all the pieces are at my disposal, Arenji will become strong enough to topple the deities. Dragons were meant to rule the world, but all our current gods can do is destroy it. It is high time that they got a taste of their own medicine instead of their constant elemental wars. Our army is growing, primarily made up of dragons touched by the remnants of the shade who have been rejected by deity followers, as well as dragons who are fed up with the current state of things and are ready for a change in power. Will you join us?
pm me if you don't understand the 'Arenji" pun

Life is hard for young hatchlings. In the modern day and age, the dragon population has become so large that hatchlings no longer have much value other than to train as an offering to the various gods and goddesses in order to bring the clan small sums of money. When Trine hatched from her plague egg, however, she immediatly decided that that was not the life for her and left.

Some time later she was on the nest for the first time. It is a proud moment for a parent in Silian Clan, as having another clan adopt one's hatchlings. The more beautiful the baby the greater odds of adoption. One hatchling was immediatly sent to the Arcanist, as was custom. For a long time Trine waited, hunting for food to feed her hungry hatchlings. One day, however, she returned to an empty den, only to find that the father had exalted all of the hatchlings. Every last one. The new mother crawled across the floor, heartbroken even as her clan consoled her, telling her that her hatchlings were in a better place - with the Arcanist.

Two nests later Trine had given up on hatchlings. Her heart could no longer take the strain of losing her children to some unseen god that seemed to care little for the clan itself. Instead her sorrow was filled with a bitterness that slowly consumed her. She began leaving Silian clan in fits and spurts, disappearing for weeks on end. On one of these journeys she found herself in an ice field. The cold whipped at her small wings but she was beyond pain by now. Upon further scrutiny of the icy ground beneath her, she spotted a small shape flailing in the snow. Furrowing her brows, Trine dipped into a dive and landed lightly in the snow. Brushing away the flakes with her small claws, she discovered a small black fae. Her wings had been frozen over, the cold freezing her veins, yet somehow the hatchling meweled in discomfort. Tucking the hatchling Ito her satche, Trine began to fly back to Silian Clan where the hatchling was nursed back to health and promptly adopted by Trine. This little fae was named Occulus, the name securing her place in the clan, despite the ice that still ran through her veins.

Despite her new charge, Trine had not forgotten the bitterness that she felt for the gods. She told Occulus all that her mind had brewed and the young fae ate up every word. Little by little a plan formed in Trine's head. A plan to topple the gods themselves. Each god had their respective land but there was something that loomed over all their lives. It determined how many hatchlings a pair would have, how often a boss is found in the coliseum, what is found when digging in the ground. Most thought this to be plain luck, but something told Trine that there was more. She began to spend all of her time training in the coliseum, riding from area to area on her black wolf familiar as she pushed to become stronger.

One night she had been fighting for hours. The sun was long gone and the full moon was at its peak. Despite this, Trine fought on alone, determined to become more powerful. Suddenly the entire area was bathed in a bright light and Trine has never spoke of what happened then. All she will say is that she found the light. She was carried into camp by her loyal familiar, a strange ooze staining her body. The fae was cold to the touch and all she carried on her was a strange fabric.

Little by little a difference in Trine's behavior could be seen. She began telling the clan mates stories of the gods' battles, laying out their history of death and destruction. She spoke of a being called the Arenji - it was not mere luck that ruled their world. After praying to Arenji she would go battle in the coliseum and brought back three eliminates in one day. She seemed to have become a strange fighter entirely, battling as no fae had before. Tooth and claw she fought, taking in more than the normal teams ever could. She had reached a level of no others.

Slowly members of the clan began seeing her ways. They agreed that the gods had been allowed to wreck the world for too long. If it became powerful enough to influence the gods, Arenji could topple them. The group split from Silian Clan, instead moving to fight for Arenji. Trine often wears the cloth that she was gifted, saying it hid her shame in having the eyes of a god-follower. When she wears the cloth, she says, her vision is suddenly clear and she can see the world as it is. The clan began to go by the name of the Melohn and are now willing to do whatever it takes to set the world right, even if it meant battling their old clan, Silian clan, which is dedicated to stopping the Melohn.

The power of Arenji has slowly been consuming her body and her mind. She tells of others who have carried the power before her, muttering of them in the dark of the night to Occulus. But her mental state has yet to falter, as shown in her battle prowess. The clan lay low and dormant for some time, staying beneath the radar of the gods - not a difficult task, with their current silence, but caution was still necessary.

Now the Melohn are growing in size. Other clans are pledging their alliances to this new figure, a god above gods, the one that truly determined life and death. The current gods are merely destructive powerhouses - Arenji determines the minute details of life and the course of history. Spies are being sent under the guise of clan members dedicated to their friends and family to spread the word of Arenji and the Melohn, slowly penetrating the other clans and weaving their way in between dragons and the trust of their gods. One day we will reign. One day the gods will be stopped. One day we will not live in fear and one day dragons will truly reign alongside the beastclans.
