WORK IN PROGRESS
You know because posters have appeared all over the town.
The Watched Circus has come to town.
Last night nothing suggested that this morning there would be bright tents, colorfully decorated stages, cages with too many eyes looking right back at you and many many other items that draw curious eyes would all be set up and awaiting you.
When you approach the Circus and you can hear the bustle of activity and hawking for a myriad of suspiciously difficult games. Fae dart above the sea tents their monotone whispers speak of secrets you’ll never know the whole story to.
The entrance is a grossly exaggerated face of a Ridgeback dragon with clown makeup painted on. The teeth are the size of a grown dragon as they stick out of the ground in dangerous spikes and hang above you like dental stalactites.
She sits next to the door. Lleu is hard to miss as cats swarm around her and her lazy claws that draw incomprehensible symbols in the dirt. The Ringmaster glances at you with a gaze that's pleasantly amused at your presence and interest.
“Hello Honey Bee.” Her voice is warm with dry whiskey scratching at the edge of it.
“You came in buzzing with excitement but there’s so much to do here. How ever will you choose what to do with your time with us?”
At the edge of your vision, you can see the cats. They’re all frozen, some paused mid-action. They’re all... looking at you. Lleu’s voice pulls you back.
“Do you enjoy games and laughter? Perhaps talking to Kelly may chance a giggle.” She points to the center of the sea of tents where you can see games and lights. There’s a scream of laughter in the distance... at least you assume that’s laughter.
Lleu leans forward and makes a gesture. In an instance, a trope of cats shoot off disappearing between the tent walls.
Like nothing happened she nods to the big top.
“Or perhaps… Drama and Flair is more of your style? Perhaps a play or one of our many acts would interest you? Cooper would be more than willing to direct you to something of intrigued.”
Lleu continues her sales pitch and gestures to a series of tents much darker than the rest.
“Maybe... you’re destined for mystery and gazing into the beyond? Lombard may be expecting you.”
You hear your name called. Or did you? You’re not so sure anymore.
Away from the main cluster of the circus, you spot a series of plainer tents with Gaoler ambling around. “Ahh, I see you have seen our guests, you’re welcome to chat with Schroder but remember little bee, They’re not here for you...”
Lleu stands up and stretches in an arch. Many of the kittens that had been basking in warmth next to her do the same.
“Well, little bee? So much awaits you… I do hope you enjoy your stay with us...”
She begins walking in through the jaws of the entrance.
“However long that ends up being.”
(First a warning! There’s quite a bit of horror and horror elements in this story. Please don’t read if you find the concept of light body horror and murder to be off-putting. Finally RP elements and RPable purchases are available as long as i have the spoons and am still playing the game! Good luck and have fun!)
(Feel free to talk with Kelly, Cooper, Lombard, or Schroder... or perhaps you're more interested in where those cats went... find Kahlo. Where ever she may be.)
