Shuffling through the hallway of the clan's hospital, following close behind a healer, Durada looks down at their sleeve, where the end of a long, tied string of handkerchiefs pokes out. Outside of the room's door they quickly repair the illusion, and allow the healer to lead them inside. Now both inside with the patient and her parent, a young Wind Ridgeback and Lightning Guardian respectively, Durada removes and puts away their noise reduction headphones, before nodding in thanks to the healer, and in greeting to the pair before them. They even offer an extra smile and slight, exaggerated wave to the patient herself, who smiles and waves back with a little prompting from her parent.

Reaching into their bag, the Guardian begins to dig through items, tossing little toys and trinkets about as their arm seems to dig impossibly deep into the bag, even pulling out a sizable Hainu plushie; which they promptly hold up, glance at, give a little pat on the head, and offer to the hatchling. Lighting up a bit, the hatchling takes it, while the healer chuckles a bit and assures her that Durada said she's meant to keep that, which the Guardian excitedly nods to, the ends of their costume bouncing around at the movement. The hatchling grips the plush a little tighter, and leans towards their visitor, who's now retrieved a seemingly endless handkerchief from this bag of oddities. Pulling and pulling, the Guardian fakes a struggle, until, with a sudden, soft fabric pop, they look to their hat, unexpectedly tied to the end of the handkerchief, and dramatically pat their now-bare head.

Durada can't help but feel their heart soar when the hatchling starts to laugh.

After a long performance and heartfelt goodbye, Durada sits in a quiet staff room with the healer. The healer contently sighs, almost on the verge of letting out a slight laugh. "You're one of the best clowns that visit here, you know? Kids ask for you by name. I don't blame 'em, I've seen you perform a million times and sometimes even I'm caught off guard by the stuff you come up with. I don't even know how you do half of it."

Durada's tail twists in even circles, and, with a quick nod beforehand, they lift a claw and sign "Thank you," to the healer.

There's about twenty minutes until Durada's next visit, so they get to work organizing their bag. The next hatchling is a bit wary of clowns, they've heard, but an older sibling and both parents will be present in the room. Another gift was, of course, only necessary, and Durada needed to get the toys all cleared beforehand anyhow. Their tail taps against the floor now, as they go back over the plan. They'll open with a puppet, and then bring out its 'friend.' A jointed Spiral toy, with a little hinged jaw, which will fit quite nicely in the claws of a hatchling. And be more than enough to break the tension, surely.

Hopefully, they'll get lucky with another early laugh.
