The Singer was an okeamid, a male nymph, working for the royal nymph family.
He was an extremely powerful magician and capable of using all elements for his magic. Since the elements followed his will like they were dancing he was called 'The Singer'.
He was teaching magic to the young Eowyn and noticed her talent soon. While her parents didn't want her to become a strong magic user and just expected The Singer to teach the basics, he admired her ambition and rebellious character and taught her as much as he could.
The Singer was never a strict teacher, he left Eowyn a lot of free space as he believed that the elements had to be understood before forming them – and the understanding could only be done with an open mind.
Before the princess left her family he gave her his necklace, a green stone that was able to amplify the magic powers of his wearer.

The Singer was killed some years after Eowyn left by a demon that was working on recreating blood dragons. His genes were used to stabilize the artifically created blood dragon Lisko.
