A fierce fighter, Rygoth was raised in a commune of warrior Gaolers residing in the Scarred Wasteland. Trained from an early age, when she was old enough Rygoth was sent out to prove herself in the wider world. She began working as a mercenary, protecting fledgeling Plague clans or wealthy travelers from the creatures of the Wasteland, and earning the title Bloodmane. When she had sufficiently proven herself, the commune ordered her to return and keep the breed's existence secret, but while on her jobs Rygoth had heard that the Gaolers in the Fortress of Ends had made themselves known to the wider world, and so left the Wasteland in search of new work. Her travels took her through the Tangled Wood and down the coast of the Sea of a Thousand Currents until she reached the Rest. After arriving at the city she was welcomed, but perhaps with more apprehension than the other two newly-arrived Gaolers, Sycra and Artemi. She took up patrolling the outskirts, avoiding the stares and whispers she would get from citizens. Eventually, as the Rest grew and the guard were stretched thin, Bloodbender approached her with an offer to join the guard. Rygoth had seen Bloodbender working from afar, and respected the older warrior, and so accepted. As she began doing more guarding within the city, the citizens eventually came to accept her. She became friends with the rest of the guard, and even talks with Sycra and Artemi, whom she originally resented. Rygoth is now a common sight around the Rest, patrolling or sparring with fellow guards. After hours, she can be found at the Tattered Sail, recounting tales from her mercenary days. |
