Siella

Siella hatched at sea under the loving gazes of her mother, her father, and their entire crew of pirates. Though most would assume vagabonds such as those in her parents’ employ had no heart for hatchlings, this was far from the truth. From the moment Siella tumbled out of her egg everyone was vying to play with her and teach her about sea life. (You know what they say: it takes a clan to raise a hatchling.) As soon as her parents —the joint captains of the ship— let her out of the nest she was being doted upon, taken up high to the crow’s nest or allowed to play around in the treasure they plundered.
As she grew, Siella started to pitch in like any other sailor. The entire crew was her family regardless of blood, and she was happy to start helping out where she could, even if it was just small tasks at first that were more her parents humoring her than anything else. By the time she was fully grown she had become a master sailor and an impressive pirate, sometimes even calling the shots when her parents deemed she was ready. From the start Siella had been a bit of a hothead, but with maturation came some patience that tempered rash decisions with careful consideration, and soon she had leadership skills on par with her parents’.

Siella always dreamed about the day she would have her own ship and her own crew. She loved her family, yes, but she longed to stretch her wings and take her life into her own talons. So, after one last raid, Siella announced she would be leaving to find her own way in life. Her family, much to her surprise, had seen it coming, and were ready to send her off with as much treasure as she could carry and the reassurance that if she ever wanted to come back, she always had a home with them. It was everything she had hoped for.
Thus Siella struck out on her own, to find new horizons. After being on the sea her entire life she decided to venture inland, wandering from place to place, Flight to Flight, until she fell in with the clan of Crimson Fang. Though not pirates, Siella found a certain kinship with the dragons there, and decided to stay for the time being. She’s still getting used to the ground not rocking beneath her, to be honest, but there is a certain novelty to staying in one place for a long time. And anyways, she thinks she might have found another family here.
Siella might return to the sea one day, but until then there are many adventures to be had, and she intends to face them all head on with a song in her heart and a fanged smile.
