B I O G R A P H Y

______ Nobody would ever believe me if I told them I was actually a kind creature when I was born. I might not look like it but beauty lay on the inside. And for a while I had a heart of gold, even if my exterior didn't look like it. I was the color of a shadow. A deep purple, almost black color everywhere you looked. My wings were a deep shimmering purple that seemed to eat up the sunlight. My stomach was made of the typical thick scales that could be found on notcures. Unlike my wings they had more of a gray tint to them. The one thing however that dragons always felt the need to point out though were my eyes, even before the opening when everything for me changed they had always been a striking sight. They were a bright purple and seemed to glimmer in the sunlight. Underneath the dark purple color was a lighter light purple, which always seemed to fascinate other dragons. In my early hatchling years before everything changed I loved to explore the forest of the shadow region and play with small animals. I had a few friends that I would play with, but I generally preferred to be alone. I like all other hatchling couldn't wait until I would be able to fly on my own, little did I know I never would get that chance. I was just you're average dragon. That was until one day when I was exploring in a place that I shouldn't have been.

______ I trotted through the forest running this way and that. My parents had never really cared about my safety or what I got up to so I was pretty much allowed to roam free. Which I loved, I don't think I could handle being locked away and watched every second of every day. I ran through the woods googling at the glowing mushrooms and the large trees that rose high above my head. Most dragons that came here said the forest gave off a creepy vibe, simply for the fact that the trees blocked out most if not all the sunlight. But not to me, no this forest was more of a safe haven to me. It was a place I could go and relax in. As I wandered around I started to see a dead patch in the grass and bushes. It was strange, it was just a straight line of dead things. I slowly pushed aside a rotting bush and was shocked to see a small platform up ahead. Everything leading and around it was dead and rotting, yet I continued to walk towards it without a care. I noticed a small chest sitting on a raised platform. It seemed to sink down as I got closer for when I got to it, it was right at my height. It was a deep black color and had golden ruins all over it. I gently lifted the lid curious as to what was inside.

______ I looked at the small black rock with curiosity, something seemed to be under it. I lifted a claw and grabbed the strange stone. As soon as my scales touched it I felt a deep power radiating from it. I only had a second to think before a dark forced seemed to fill my body. I tried to let go of the rock but my claws were holding onto it against me will. I felt my body being lifted by some strange magic. I coughed and choked trying to get air into my lungs, something was stopping me from breathing. If I had air in my lungs I would be screaming in pain. My veins seemed to burn and change into something evil and darker. I felt my sanity draining away along with the tiny bit of air I had left in my lungs. Just when I thought I was about to pass out I was realized from the magic hold and dropped to the ground. I quickly took in air and stood on shaky legs. Something deep inside of me had changed and I didn't know what it was. I slowly walked back to the box and gasped when I saw my eyes. They were a swirling pattern now instead of what they once were. I turned around and decided it was time to go home. As I walked back to my clan I felt a strange need well up inside of me. At first I didn't know what it was, it just felt like a tap on my shoulder. But as I got closer I figured out what I wanted. I wanted blood.

______ That night was the first time I killed. It was a simple thing when you were just a hatchling. All I had to do was wait till my parents fell asleep then they were gone. It just looked like a wild animal came in and attacked them. Obviously I wasn't stupid enough to stay so I left. I didn't care what the clan would think, they probably would just think I was taken away by the creature that killed them. But I had a new plan in mind. I walked towards a neighboring clan and pretend to be abandoned. They took me in for the night fed me and gave me a family to stay with. I stayed with them for a few days before the need came back. That night I once again had to disappear. And that's how I live my everlasting life now. The stone not only changed my mind and eyes but also my ability to age. Ever since that day in the woods I hasn't grown any more. It's been years and I still haven't changed. Not that I mind, staying young makes it easier for clans to feel the need to take me in. So that's how I lived. I would stay with a clan for a few days and when the hunger came I would once again kill and disappear. No one ever caught on or suspected a thing. Because on the outside I was just a scared hatchling looking for a home. But on the inside I had a heart as dead and black as the night sky.
