Velocity

Velocity was born to be a rebel, or at least, that's what she told people. She mostly acted out because of the frustration she had towards her mother's constant state of depression and occasional clinginess. Her mother was always brooding over something: feeling abandoned, her dad's disappearance, or worrying about Vel's siblings who already left the nest. However, having seen what her siblings did, and how lonely her mother was, Vel felt compelled to stay behind because she cared, or maybe it was guilt. She wasn't sure yet.

On her good days, her mother Magika was over-bearing with her affection towards her daughter, and Vel hated the clingy attention. On her bad days, Magika couldn't decide what she wanted and didn't seem to notice Velocity's existence, moaning endlessly to her uncle Reason, and why the world was against her. It was a never ending loop that they had both grown to accept.

And so, Velocity turned to being a trouble-maker within Ash Haven's encampment. She loved to mess with other dragons as they flew. With the help of her flying familiars (of which she had many) she could throw dragons off course, just to see the confused look on their faces as they fluttered awkwardly back on track. She was even considering finding a proper alchemist who could change her breed so she could easily stand up to others, and possibly burn some steam as a Wildclaw hunter or warrior, but her mother seemed appalled at the idea.

When her grandfather returned in the mysterious form of RazedEcho, she never truly knew how to feel about it. She knew her mother didn't trust him, but it wasn't unheard of for dragons' pelts and breeds to change through magical means, but his actions were a bit strange. He also showed no interest in Velocity specifically, as she'd never met Echo as a hatchling, and that felt weird and alienating too.

However, when the true Echo finally made his return, he was proud of Magika for keeping her chin up for all she'd been through, and was equally excited to meet his grandchild Velocity for the first time. He asked many questions about her hatching, her accomplishments both big and small, and what she planned for the future. It was then she knew her mom had been right all along, and the family had a well-deserved reset on how they could help her mother through her emotional troubles.
