Biography
~
After Aspen was able to reveal his true nature, the full extent of his power, he was alone. He was worshipped amongst the clan, proclaimed as a miracle and a hero. But now that he was worshipped, no one wanted to get close. No one wanted to risk angering him, no one wanted to even be within three feet of him. His claws were long, and anyone in the same room could see how his new heart glowed. It scared them.
And so after a few months, he settled on it. Enough was enough. He had continued studying, had learned stronger magic. His power had continued to grow, but he had no one to share it with. No one to share his knowledge with.
And that was when he found one of the most ancient texts, a forbidden book that he never been able to be deciphered before. It took him an entire month to decode the book, but he did it, and he searched through it eagerly, soaking up the new and ancient knowledge like a sponge. This book spoke of creating life, life from nothing but a few simple elements and the purest of magic.
It took him a while to figure out how to perform the ritual, but he was ready when the time came. On the night of the full moon, he went out to the woods, into the clearing where he had gained his heart. And there, he formed a mate out of the finest clay, sculpted her and created a body for her. His breath caught when he finished the sculpting, blinking back tears. Soon, he wouldn't be alone anymore.
Aspen reached into his chest and tore the leaf that made his heart. He tore it into perfect halves, one for himself and one for his soon to be mate. The heart melded into her chest, fitting perfectly, and Aspen started chanting. He could feel the ground pulsing under his feet as it rushed to bring forth life, to help him. And he let it, he let the life pulse into the sculpture in front of him until it inhaled sharply, blinking.
Aspen stumbled back, feeling so incredibly tired. But he had done it. He had created a Golem. And this golem would be his mate, would help him to defend the clan and to share in his knowledge.
The golem stared at him, eyes wide. She was silent, but she started circling around Aspen until she finally nodded, accepting him.
It took months before she was properly able to blend into the clan, until she had learned their ways. But she was perfect for Aspen. She learned diligently, always stayed by his side and shared in his love for knowledge. And soon enough, they shared their love for each other. They were two halves of a whole, unable to live without each other. Aspen had torn himself apart to create her, and now they belonged to each other.
