tumblr_nti067xMTN1repldoo7_400.png Description:
As the deal drags on, Mirna just balances her blade between her clawtips. Her ears aren't holding on to much more than mentions of payment and targets' descriptions, and this client is nigh shivering as he notices the Imperial becoming more disinterested- and impatient. He clears his throat as he avoids her gaze and finishes with, "W-well, look, I know you don't need me to give you strategies, or probably even maps, I-I don't know... Just... You're the only dragon that's been consistently recommended to me. Your, uh-" His voice takes on a different tone as his throat starts to feel far more valuable to keep than this job. "-sheer knowledge regarding this sort of- sort of wilderness makes you the only dragon for this job. I don't want to beg, but... by the Gladekeeper, I need this lot out of the picture."

Mirna doesn't become any less intimidating upon hearing the client's pleas, but does look up from his assortment of maps and photographs to make eye contact. Her blade silently meets the table as she puts it down to sign, "Triple my pay."

"Triple? Triple? I'm not made of money, I can't-" The dragon sighs. "I can't pay you triple. But... Double and a half, I... I could make that work."

The Imperial thinks the offer over for far too long before shrugging and slipping her blade into its holster. Her signing becomes much more expressive as she barely smiles and replies, "Alright. You have a deal. Just remember my upfront charge."

The leaves barely rustle as Mirna's body slips through, the Imperial's eyes transfixed on the dragons below. Items and treasure are switching claws as others (presumably hired warriors like Mirna) keep watch. Only a few look towards the canopy, and the myriad of red eyes Mirna can catch makes the jungle landscape all the more comforting to her. Her blades are out in an instant as she begins to move over the scene. Targets are becoming antsy as the sunlight that streamed through the trees above slowly disappears- the thought that the culprit is a dragon may cross minds, but it seems unlikely. Still, more warriors turn their attention to the leaves, and some with ranged weaponry even hazard an aim upwards. Perfect, Mirna thinks, purposely shaking the branches a bit more.

Vines and roots burst forth through the ground, wrapping around whatever limbs, bodies, or weaponry that the plants can take purchase around. The assigned targets fully panic now as the warriors fail to fight anything but plants, and the jungle roof holds no promises of allowing a swift escape. The warriors are being overtaken by Mirna's attack, their bodies becoming buried in the ever growing wood and vines to form a wall around the targets. A few try to burn their way out, but oxygen is becoming scarce, on top of the choking humidity. With the escape of one last gunshot, Mirna quietly makes her way outside of the wall. The targets are flying, scattering as the canopy opens up; just as quickly, the targets are screaming, landing as they notice their numbers thinning. They can't see anything, much less hear anything, until a blade cuts them short. Soon only one (face tear-streaked, hind ankle twisted, and wings bloodied by thorns) remains, having gotten farther than any other as they sprint and fly away, themself silenced as they realize yelling for help won't do anything. Taking a moment to wipe her blades, Mirna lets the target run a little longer.

Then, she gives chase.
