Biography
Starburst has always been eye-catching; adult dragons loved to fawn over and coo about the vibrant pinks which dotted the scales of Starburst and their siblings, and other hatchlings always found themselves fixated on the whimsical patterns. The young Guardian would revel in the attention, even if they didn't quite understand all the fuss and all the words that came with it yet. But it wasn't until one day, when a well meaning dragon asked the barely talking hatchie, "And just what color is that belly of yours, Starburst?" when something was discovered about them. Because their response- adorable as it was- of, "Green! I'm green aaaaaaall over!" followed by a fit of giggling, revealed that Starburst found their world's palette... a little muddled. But it was nothing that would hinder Starburst's life. They stayed sociable and excitable, and, come adolescence, soon found that the facet of their appearance that drew the adoration of other dragons was no longer their vibrant scales, but their strong features. An angular jaw, symmetrical horns, broad wings, a powerful tail- Starburst wouldn't turn away compliments offered calling them "handsome" or the like. They stayed reluctant about pursuing any sort of relationship, though, in favor of focusing on their passion; their art. Illustrations sporting mismatched palettes, eye-searing and whimsical, almost sickeningly cute, decorated every canvas Starburst got to work on. It was all reminiscent of others' work, sure, but it was what Starburst loved. And, while during early studies they'd always stayed relatively quiet about their colorblindness (they could barely remember what the proper name for the red-green whatchyamacallit was anyways), an older Starburst would find themself becoming more vocal about it as their art slowly became more popular. They still did other small jobs beyond personal projects, but couldn't deny that their work was making them real treasure. Commissions on the sides of vehicles for eccentric nomads, entire murals in clan centers, the occasional tattoo design, a poster collection or two or three- if Starburst wasn't working on a project, they were in the midst of receiving a new one. And now, with this much success, the Guardian can't help but feel like they should be putting their looks to work and start 'collaborating' on something other than art...
