Description: The snow crunches and crumbles as armored feet dig into the unfeeling ground, and as the knees above them quietly bend. Keen blue eyes inspect the gigantic footsteps before them, noting the way they seem to drag on and sink lower with every step. Thin, crooked lines speckled with a dark black trail along the footsteps' sides. The dragon inspecting the tracks silently places a claw within a footprint as they rise, and look out towards the horizon this creature just ran towards, glowing snow illuminating the path. But the moment of recognition fades as quickly as it arrived, as a shuffling sounds behind the dragon. Within moments, they quickly spin around, sword drawn, as a roaring and rattling promise of death leaps towards them. Sture can't recall their parents- their biological ones, anyways. While assured they were devotees to Ice, who decided to exalt themselves for the good of the flight and in service to their Warden, the dragon's not exactly sure if their feelings are being spared. After all, for all the coldness and harshness of Gaolers, one thing can be said of them; they're devoted parents. With their hatchlings nestled in their fur, allowed to be just as cared for as they are exposed to their parents' roles, and always kept carefully groomed and loved, their caretakers more attached and in love with their unnamed, budding jailers than some dragons may be with their own named offspring. But Sture can still recall nicknames; their particularly fluffy sibling got called "puff" more often than not, and their aspiring, adventurous one was always called "little seeker." As for Sture... Well, "baby Bane" makes sense in hindsight, but a young Coatl among Gaolers only ever suspected it was some language mix-up they didn't understand. No harsh feelings, though. Blood only runs as deep as one lets it. And the nickname ended as soon as Sture earned their name, of course. They'd more than proven themself as deserving of one, and most found their devotion to the Icewarden unmatched. Older Gaolers and Tundras may still hold on to some skepticism, but even bias becomes difficult to hold once the results start rolling in. Paired or alone, Sture's agility and efficiency greatly aided in recapturing and subduing escaped beasts, and never once had they flinched in the face of certain death. Sture is fighting for so much more than their own life, after all. As the beast's hulking body barely breathes, chains feeling heavier than ever, Sture keeps icy eyes on its form, sword still drawn as an inky black stream drips from its surface and onto the snow. The Coatl fans a small campfire, spewing smoke into the sky so that a Gaoler can help them drag it back into captivity. Chances are it'll be frozen this time. Sture stokes the fire absent-mindedly for a moment, beholding its orange glow, before refocusing on the beast. Soon to be frozen. Unthawable. Good riddance.
