Motherly but brutal in both fight and out of it, Zaraiya has claimed a high standing in the clan as a Den Mother. It might be hard to believe from her ferocious appearance, but the time that she is not out on hunting or training trips she spends in the Den watching the hatchlings. She doesn’t have that many offspring herself so she has claimed all the clan’s hatchlings as her adoptive ones.

Zaraiya has a kind of a rivalry with her mate Akartan on who is better fighter: Zaraiya insists on protecting her “weaker” companion nevermind the fact that Akar is a great Imperial with intimate knowledge on death and necromancy. This has been continuing ever since when Akartan poked his big snout at her fight to have a look at the bodies and got wounded in the process.

Zaraiya is an ambush fighter and she really doesn’t have the endurance for a long fight or a chase. In addition she is fond of shadowing other fighters and being a support and a distraction if need to be. Due to this, she prefers to fight with the skirmishers and scouts instead of being in the front line, and works as a second in command for Bul in that section. However, if needed, she can fight as a front-line clawtip with Akartan as her support and healer.

Zaraiya cannot be really called social, but she has formed some firm friendships inside the clan. After Akartan, her closest one is Zeramele, and she is adamant in helping the younger one to reach high enough skills to reclaim her Charge. Together with Zera they are one of the main mentor-teams in the clan, dragging trainees through dangerous environments to get them ready.

Zaraiya is motherly, in her own way: her favourite way of training is to throw half-dead enemies to trainees after shielding them and letting Zera hit the enemy enough that they aren’t too much of a threat. In addition to the training trips, she frequently goes on hunting trips and other longer journeys to guard others. She insists that the others need protecting no matter what size they are, or what skills they have.
