Biography
your bio needs as much fixing up as your buddy does huh
From a time when designs had no joints and were held together by energy to avoid wear and increase flexibility, they were discontinued soon because of the inefficient energy use. Seeing one active is quite rare these days.

Jack listened to his best friend rattle off all the insecure parts of the complex, the ones that he patrolled, the ones he knew well. The, admittedly outdated, cooling system Jack has installed was running at full capacity as he tried to figure out the best way for him and his bud to break out before they were scrapped for parts.
“-and that’s all I can find in my memory drives at the moment.” Al finished his somewhat long ramble. Jack sat still for a moment, mechanisms quietly humming as he thought. Then, he hovered up to a ‘standing’ position.
“Alright, I think I have an idea. I’ll explain as you pack up your stuff, ‘kay?”
“Understood.”
-
The bots hunkered in Al’s room until it was the time when most of the natural dragons were asleep, 1 in the morning. Jack led Al as they slinked through the halls, so far going unnoticed. Al was still in the process of shaking off his original programmed parameters, so he was understandably hesitant about the whole thing, but Jack helped the best he could, reassuring him with the kindest sort of words he could muster without gagging or getting too distracted.
“Alright, where did you say that break in the wall is?” The mechanical fae whispered, peering around a corner and searching the softly glowing gem-ridden halls for any sort of motion that indicated something that could get them caught. A security android like Al is especially suspicious when seen out after their shift, so as much of a help he is he is also a liability in equal amounts.
“To the left, there’s a door with a faulty lock, leads outside to a large fence that’s able to be flown over by natural dragons. I can’t make it over without severely overworking my servos.” Al said somberly. “The fence is electrified so there’s no way for us to break it down. It goes a fair way into the ground, too.”
“Well is there any sort of door or opening that I can use to get past the fence?” Jack said, annoyed at Al’s habit of not taking initiative in the useful information department.
“On the other side of the compound. No time.”
Jack’s voicebox malfunctioned angrily, a combination of squeaking and whining sounds. “Fine, we’ll figure out how to cut power to the fence then.”
“Understood.” Al continued on, Jack sat on his back due to it being the fastest way to travel for both of them. Luckily, being a security bot, he has clearance through the faulty door, the fault being that the clearance level was much lower than it should be, and the two were quickly outside.
The crystals that grew up from the ground obscured the stars, making the night sky an inky black all except for the moon, waning crescent phase. There was a cool breeze neither of the bots were accustomed to, making the grass move in landbound waves. And, bordering it all, a big chain link fence, signs on it every ten feet or so stating it was electrified as to keep out harmful wildlife. Or so the administration leading the compound would want people to believe.

“I forgot what it feels like to be out here…” Al mumbled. His patrol route never took him this way for the longest time, so it’s been years since he’s been outside like this. Jack dismounted his friend and floated closer to the fence, pointing out in a westerly direction, “according to some maps, there’s another clan close by, that way. Hopefully it isn’t full of morons so we can get help, but it’s not like we’re going to be staying there for long.” He inspected the fence closer, slowly drifting toward it. “I think I can get myself through here if I dismantle myself right, you’ll have to help me though.” He said to Al. “Understo-” “STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!” A natural guard wearing steel armor clashed and clanged through the doorway, looking and sounding none too happy about seeing bots where they shouldn’t be at hours they shouldn’t be active during. Jack’s voicebox malfunctioned again, making him screech in panic instead of exclaim something that he probably should not be saying. The next thing the little mechanical fae saw was Al running at them as fast as he could, heavy metal body digging well into the soft ground beneath him. The guard fired magical bolts at them, and Al was lucky and fast enough to avoid getting hit as he barreled toward Jack and scooped him up in his little raptor arms, and sprang into the air with all his momentum, unfurling his wings and beating them furiously to gain height. More guards entered the field below and started firing bolts of their own, which Jack responded to by lobbing bolts of arcane energy right back at them, and deflecting what he could. Al screeched in mechanical agony as one of the shots pierced through his wing, and another took off a chunk of his tail, but he kept going. Jack could feel that Al’s body was starting to heat up far more than usual, and a grinding noise started coming from where the flying servos and pistons are located. He started to get nervous, but the last thing he should do in this situation is show that, right next to clipping the wings off himself, so he stayed quiet and magically linked up the broken circuits and wires his friend had just obtained, he doesn’t need anything else weighing him down right now. Suddenly, the two stopped gaining height. The fence just barely passed under the two as they started plummeting toward the ground. With the felling of a tree and a crater in the ground, the two landed, Al having protected Jack from most harm by clutching him close to his chest, though he wasn’t without his scrapes. Jack crawled out from under Al’s arms and was...shocked. The entire left side of Al’s chassis was crumpled beyond recognition from the impact, in some places cracked and showing wires. “Are you okay? Can you get up?” Jack asked, worried tone shining through whether he wanted it to or not. Al opened his mouth to speak, but only static came out. “Ah,” Jack’s voicebox malfunctioned, “we have to get you some help, quick.” |
to be continued...
Notes_ |
-robotic, runs on arcane energy -floaty limbs -no expressions, fin movements and varying iris shapes only -adorable, but hates when others call them that -i stg, it took me 4 months till i got the right colours, you rude little man -the reason why jack gives less [static] about the law is because a) he's older, and has more experience and b) the well-being of others is just more important in his coding than the law -which makes it so that he actually has more difficulty harming others, and would avoid that as far as possible |
