In life Xeno was known as 'Zena'; A brilliant Mirror and an even brighter detective and scientist. One day she claimed to have seen the Shade though a telescope, after attempting to take a break from a particularly hard case. Zena became obsessed with what she had seen, writing up mathematical equations attempting to pinpoint the distance of the encroaching creature. Though her math repeatedly came up positive to her, peers all tested her theory and came up negative. There was nothing in that area of space at that time of the sighting, nor did her math have any basis. Distraught, Zena worked herself to near the limit in an attempt to prove them wrong. In the end, she died; And her papers were given to the scientific community as a whole in the name of research. Disturbingly, over half the papers descended into hate-fueled gibberish after the date when she had sighted the entity; Discredited as having developed early schizophrenia, Zena vanished into obscurity... But her soul had not. Gripped by spite and anger, her being had transcended flesh and became a coil of anger and distrust, sinking to the bottom of the Sea of No Return, waiting for the day her theories proved correct.
