History As far back as she could remember, Tel had both longed for and dreaded finding her Charge. On the one hand, as long as she didn't have a Charge, she felt like she was living without purpose; on the other hand, she felt like her comfortable life in Mirrorlight Promenade had not adequately prepared her for the arbitrary dangers and foes that she might have to face as a Guardian. So under pretense of wanting to learn more about the world, she went off to academia, deciding that she would rather experience a slow death under a mountain of books than fail at what she was made for. Fortunately, life had other plans for her. During an otherwise uneventful field trip for her most boring class, her fae classmate Edwin sensed strong magic and asked her to accompany him to find out what it was. There, in some mostly unexplored woods of the Solaria River Valley, unarmed with only a near-stranger by her side, she found her Charge: a grove of magic-infused trees with leaves that glowed on their edges. She was utterly bewildered. How could she protect such a place? What did it even mean to protect it? Edwin and other unexpected friends helped her begin. As a clan formed around the grove, slowly but surely Tel learned that not everything must be done alone.

Occupation: Guardian of Glowtree Grove
Telperion is ultimately responsible for the well-being of the glowtrees and the maintenance of the grove as a whole. She gets a lot of help from Sonna.

Role in clan: Clan leader, defense administrator
As the Grove's Guardian, Tel gets the final say in clan matters, but she delegates most of the day-to-day activities. Tree-tending and defense tasks keep her busy enough.
As the defense admin, she is in charge of the patrol schedule and combat training.

Skills and hobbies
She's a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, having learned basic life skills well and a bit about many other skills. When she can be convinced to take a break from her responsibilities, she likes to swim in the river, which is something few smaller dragons can enjoy due to its danger for them.

Personality and quirks
She can quickly switch back and forth between very casual speech and very formal and noble-sounding speech as the situation demands. She gets along well with all kinds of dragons.

Clan interactions
Tel mistrusts anyone new to her at first, due to her need to keep the Grove safe. However, she quickly warms up to those who prove trustworthy.

For a time, Hoji was the only other guardian around, so Tel made an effort to get to know her despite their great differences. They have now developed a strong camaraderie. Tel is somewhat jealous of Hoji's devil-may-care attitude.

Tel can easily get irritated with people like Luin, whose personal interests are more important to them than the interests of the Grove; Zera, who cares but makes many mistakes; and Valour, who can get distracted by something shiny and fail to do what he promised.

Trivia Because she's so thin, those who know her well enough to get away with it have joked that she's Sornieth's smallest imperial. She still has a homemade imperial costume tucked away. Her favorite food is golden rainbow trout. It's very difficult to catch.
