"There are so many misunderstood creatures," she said. "Are creatures evil for trying to survive? Does a wolf deserve death for eating a deer? Does a deer deserve the mark of the beast for trampling a rabbit? Creatures are bound by nature. Is nature evil?"

The beings around her agreed in silence.

"Nature is the balance of the universe. There is no good or evil. Nature is neutral. Creatures are neutral. I am neutral."

A thin, bony hand reached for the nearest creature. It pressed against the other's horns. "We are neutral, and thus it is only right that we continue to feast. Don't you agree?"

While the silence remained, the hunger in the crowd's eyes roared.
