The seat of Solektra's Court lies far underground in a warren of tunnels that few know the way through. Deep in those caves many of her fey slumber - most are gemstones, rocks, and minerals, some of the most solid and unchanging of the fey. Still, there are the odd ones out - the desert fey, constantly shifting in subtle but undeniable ways, or the fey of earthquakes, quiet for long years only to set the entire Court into turmoil. Turmoil like that is addressed in the Lady’s chamber itself, a crystal-studded cavern where the rest of the tunnels meet. Just a single narrow tunnel shaft from above allows light in, refracting upon itself to set the whole room sparkling. It’s there that she holds her rare assemblies, always to address some present issue. Her Court is not one to throw a frivolous party. Though her throne is magnificent, a masterwork of hewn stone and inlays of gem and metal, she prefers to stand before it. Her endurance unmatched, her will unwavering, she listens and considers the path before her far longer than others would. Her eyes are the surest tell of her close-held thoughts - shifting from their calm earth brown to sunny topaz in delight, cool sapphire in sadness, ruby-red in anger. Not that her moods are so changeable that one needs an indicator - on the contrary, Solektra is methodical, logical, relentless, rarely letting fickle emotions drive her decisions. She is in control. She will endure. Nobody has yet proven her wrong. |
