Few dragons actually know why Vermilion joined the clan and most of them don't want to risk his wrath, so it can be hard to find out. If you're patient you may find some willing to part with the tales they've heard.

Some will say that he was all but carried in by Ichor, covered in wounds brimming with disease. He only survived because of Ichor's necromancy and owes them a great dept.

Others will propose that he challenged Ichor to a battle and began following them after being defeated.

The remaining will insist that Vermilion was sent by the Plague Bringer herself to aid the young necromancer.

In the end the only two dragons that know the truth are Himself and Ichor.

Vermilion has always held an above average capacity for magic, often taking great delight in catching his opponents off guard with it.

Despite his short temper it's not uncommon to see him patiently training hatchlings of the clan in the ways of combat.

Though he will strongly deny it, he avoids Hex like she is death herself, all but running away when she comes near.
