Seth's always stood out.

That's not to say they're unusual, or ever really were, simply that they've surprised dragons around them. Pearlcatchers of a hardy stock aren't difficult to find in the Wasteland, and Seth's bulky form certainly attests to that. Short and stocky, but mean-looking enough to part any crowd, Seth could be a poster child for the few and far between of the truly working class of the Scarred Wasteland.

So when Seth wears silk gloves, a rare commodity and near sacrilegious product in that scourged land, heads turn. The Pearlcatcher's gruff voice and demeanor may scare off questions and cowardly enough stares, but unfamiliar dragons will still whisper. "Seth's soft," they'd whisper, "Must be getting treasure from somewhere. What'dya think it is? Some rich entrepreneur from stormier skies?" To which other dragons might chuckle and whisper right back, "Yeah, like someone'd funnel money to some random Pearlcatcher. Use that rattling skull of yours, won't you?"

And just as quickly as the dragons would start laughing and punching shoulders, another would slide up from a corner of the room and clock one across the jaw. It'd probably be a Mirror, face flushed and heart pounding, the blood on their knuckles fresh and dripping. And when the two mocking dragons would start yelling, asking why the hell they'd do that, the Mirror would shut them up as they'd yell right back, "Don't you talk about Seth that way! You outsiders don't have a lick of respect for anyone, don't you?" Then the Mirror would pull out a knife, a carefully carved and preserved bone making up its handle. "And don't you go acting dumb now, I know this ain't the first time you've seen a tribute weapon. Belonged to my father, you know that? Lost him last year, knew he'd want me to keep him around."

As the mocking dragons would begin to recuperate, guilt clouding their minds as they listened, the Mirror would continue. "We couldn't reclaim much of him. But there was... There was enough to be the handle of my knife, enough to be a ring for my mother, enough to fit into my sister's false leg. And do you know who cleaned up those bones for us? Held 'em in silk gloves so they wouldn't get scratched? Carved them so they told my father's stories? Made them into the tributes you see my family wielding now?" The two mocking dragons would sputter a bit, perhaps knowing the answer but not wanting to say it. And so the Mirror would just continue. "Seth did. And I wouldn't have it any other way."

Afterwards, if Seth happened to be sitting down, chatting quietly with a good friend and, unfortunately, customer, a server would subtly tap their broad shoulder and inform them that some dragons had bought them a drink. Looking over, Seth would see two sheepish dragons awkwardly smiling at them, and a familiar Mirror with an even more familiar looking knife calming down. And Seth would crack a small, stoic smile themself, raising their glass into a cheer with a silk-gloved claw as they extended their thanks.

Quote:
A stocky and stoic Wasteland Pearlcatcher, this dragon also has a sentimental side. Though some may be wary of it, others know why it’s so important that it must be defended.
