memory rays
bright and divine,
He lived through every moment.
Smiling and breathing and holding on to
each precious moment
For each moment was a ray of light
which rarely shone on him,
there were so many
and they didn’t all get chances
he was happy to see the sun
shining above his head
where there was nothing bad awaiting him
and he could smile for truly,
this was worth the world.
reaching up to the sky seemed oddly hopeful
Even though it was just a gesture.
So weird, yet so perfect.
It made him smile.
Another simple, happy thing,
So beautiful.
Beauty came in the simplest things,
and light was one of those things.
And he embraced every second he stood in it.
for though he knew it wouldn’t last forever
every moment that it did last was another memory
another ray of light that would make him smile.
and though he would barely remember them,
there was plenty more to come.
the sun was staying, and so was he.
