Children of the brawlers learn how to use their teeth and claws to maim before they even fly. Most are brutal, vicious and won’t hesitate to rip the throat out of anyone who stands in their way. It’s no wonder that they lead solitary lives.

Even the precious few who choose to turn their backs on this ruthlessness and lonely existence still struggle with the bloodthirst.

Only the strong survive. One cannot deny what lies in their nature.

Secace feels the pull of it the moment he hatches from his egg, even when his limbs are still clumsy, unfamiliar things and he hasn't the words to name the call.

Later, he understands what it is that twists his magic so. His talents are exceptional for a Plague dragon, extraordinary for a brawler such as himself. His enemies would bemoan their fate if they knew he was a blood mage, too.

It is not a skill he takes the time to refine. His parents are, first and foremost, fighters without a shred of honour in their bones and little time nor patience for magic, and you can bet the Plaguebringer they taught him those ways; this lowly warrior's choice of weapons has rarely risen above his teeth and claws.

Which isn't to say that he's never used blood magic before-- as a Plagueborn, you take every advantage you can get. It's just that as an untrained mage with decent potential and a frightful temper, he has a tendency to be rather, well. Brutal is one word.

Some would use savage, barbaric, ferocious. He's not picky when it comes to names.

All you have to know is this: by the time your limbs seize up and betray you and your throat closes, it's already too late.
