Once Cygnus was a vain dragon. A jewel-collector by trade (and quite wealthy by luck), she had all the riches in the world at her clawtips—but would have given it all away if it meant someone listened. Besides, the high life, as she eventually found, was not for her; when given the opportunity to become physically young forever, she cast the spell in a heartbeat. This felt closer to her true nature—a being of youthful mischief!
But something gnawed at her still. Life as a nocturne, even a little one, did not suit her. She had always been drawn to the sea, perhaps sparked by her namesake’s animal—and when she considered what it might be like to live in the depths, once again she committed without looking back. Now Cygnus soars both air and sea with the grace of a sugar-high leptocephalus, and she couldn’t be happier.
