Who are you? Why are you here? You should leave, my brother doesn't take kindly to strangers.

Born to two Ghouls named Myo and Haema, Niyr's fate had already been decided from the moment he hatched. Almost as soon as the Imperial took his turn at the Necromancer Trials, he failed. Scared to return home to his hopeful mother, Niyr ran to a place he knew where he would feel welcome. A Clan that recently moved into the blistering territories of Plague, the Blood Hunters. There, he learned about a, older sibling that was willing to take him under his wing, and teach him how to embrace his inner Ghoul.

And just like his older brother, ConTam, Niyr's sanity dipped into dangerous levels, almost matching the insane Necromancer he called a sibling. Unlike his brother, the Imperial can choose his own fate. Except, the urge to please is like a horrible habit, one he cannot stop.

His fate was sealed as soon as he hatched from his egg, as if already touched by Plaguemother and corrupted into the fate of his parents and doomed to the fate of a Ghoul. Time flew by in his younger years, before it was time for his turn in the Necromancer Trials. As soon as Mother touched his flesh, infecting him with her contagon, his body convulsed as the infection seeped into the Imperial's bones. Already, he knew he failed if it was this painful so early into the Trials. He couldn't bare the thought of upsetting his hopeful mother, but continued on in agony through the Trials.

Not even half way through the Second Trial of Survival, the pain became too much. Knowing he would end this way, he ran before he even completed the day, escaping the Trials, and never returning to his home Clan. Niyr ran for miles, his body screaming at him to stop, his destination unknown, even to him.

He knew of a sibling, older than him, he heard their name from his mother. ConTam, a Necromancer who took the Trials and succeeded. A Necromancer corrupted by his powers, his mind broken by the insanity his eyes caused. And so, Niyr set his course to the home of the Blood Hunters.

He knew he arrived as soon as he smelled the rotting corpses of other dragons, ones who failed to please their King. And, with a deep breath, he entered the realm of Plague. Almost instantly, he knew he was home, a sickening grin appearing on the Imperal's face as he stood before the wicked king.

The story was told, how they share the same mother, how he ran from the Trials as soon as he knew he failed, and how he knew of ConTam. Niyr was asked the infamous question, ""Will you serve?"" He bowed his head and followed his brother into a whirlwind of insanity.

Kill this, corrupt that, the Ghoul followed his brother's commands in ways that would fit his standard. It sickened him, but it felt....good too. A habit, an insane habit he wishes he could stop, but couldn't. He was sick and scared of himself, but couldn't stop the feeling of satisfaction of pleasing his brother. He didn't want this fate, yet it was too late to stop.

Fire-born are especially gifted in bestowing fever and delirium. The most powerful can cause blood to boil in the veins. Fire Necromancers are experts at burning pathogens from the body and searing away infection. Often their cures can be more painful than the original affliction.
Ghoul wrote:
Ghouls have failed to contain the plague in the second trial and as a result are condemned to a slow death by decay. Most are too ashamed to return to their original clans and so wander the land, spreading their contagion to any clan foolish enough to harbor them. Plague clans are well aware of what they are and are the least likely to shelter them, while other Flights are more apt to be taken unaware. However, Plague clans that pride themselves on their ability to resist Plaguebringer's diseases might take Ghouls in as status symbols or in a rare display of mercy.
Swirl Eyed wrote:
Swirl-eyed dragons exist in two states: a dormant stationary state and an active swirling state. When active, the spiral of the dragon's eye rotates and they are able to observe and process a preternatural level of information about the world around them. In Necromancers and their variants, the effect often manifests as the ability to perceive a body's inherent weaknesses, susceptibilities, and latent disease states before symptoms even appear. The ability is not without price, for the more often a dragon activates their sight, the faster their control over it erodes. In later stages a dragon completely loses the ability to deactivate their gaze, leaving them in a state that is out of sync with time and space. They are no longer able to perceive reality as it is, and are instead lost to the exponential possibilities of the future. Like a disease, swirl eyes are contagious and can be transferred when a dragon touches another with magic. As a result, swirl eyes are an almost insurmountable liability in Necromancers. Instead it is Necroservi that benefit most from the eye-type, often using it in service of their Necromancer, who in turn can help them maintain control. Swirl eyes in Ghouls are truly terrifying. Already unstable, Ghouls with swirl eyes quickly lose control and fall into insanity. However that does not stop unscrupulous Necromancers forcing the condition on captive Ghouls, wanting the power the ability grants without suffering its detriments.
