Ninna nanna, ninna oh
To whom shall I give this baby?
If I give it to the old hag
She'll keep it for a week.
If I give it to the bogeyman
He'll keep it for an entire year.
If I give it to the while wolf
He'll keep it for a long time.
Lullaby sleep fairies
Send my baby to sleep.

In times before any dragon could remember, a small gathering of Pearlcatchers came together,
touched by the shade of the First Age. They resented their mother flight - Light - and were exiled
to the shadows of the Tangled Wood after the conspiracy of the mass genocide of Imperials,
whom the Lightweaver loved more than the ‘true’ forefathers of dragon kind. These dragons
lived together, conjuring a plan to destroy the Lightweaver and anything she loved. After many
generations, the ideology of wiping out an entire race became a distant memory, and the group
focused on the art of alchemy and witchcraft. Many Pearlcatchers died without having any
hatchlings, too absorbed from destruction. Others chose to only raise one hatchling, sending the
rest away to serve the Shadowbinder - their new deity, in order to teach the hatchling all they
knew and master the arts of dark magic. The group - with its limitations on breeding - became so
small only a handful of followers were left. One pair, in an effort to continue the following, decided
to raise all three children they hatched instead of sending two to the Shadowbinder. The left the
following to find a temporary home far away from where the Elders could find them. Eventually, the
pair settled in the Southern Icelands and hatched the three eggs. Of the three hatchlings, only one
had a true talent towards dark arts and used this to her advantage. From a very young age, the
young girl could manipulate minds, the elements and was close to successfully awakening the dead.
Her siblings were the source of her powers, she used them to experiment and try her twisted
theories. Both could not handle that amount of torture and sacrificed themselves to deities in
neighbouring realms. Finding that their daughter had all the drive of their ancestors, the pair soon
left to Deities in other realms in shame of what they had done. The young Pearlcatcher found her
way back to the Tangled Wood and rejoined the following to serve and destroy.

As the last true member of the following, Indianna set out to recreate the original ideology of her
ancestors and settled deeper within the Tangled Woods. She used her magic to lure dragons into
her lair, but could not make them stay long enough to create a new clan without them breaking the
spell. Any dragons that didn’t have medical problems from the magic were sent to the Shadowbinder.
Indianna’s body count was in the hundreds when she discovered a lost egg. Thinking this was her
break, she cared for the egg until it hatched, and from it emerged a tiny Mirror. Born premature, the
little boy was weak and frail. Indianna felt herself mellow and drove herself to care for the hatchling.
Over time, the Mirror grew stronger, but not strong enough to help Indianna in her plans. She spent
the next year creating a powerful potion to change the boy, whom she named Riot - after the chaos
she would hope he causes to the world. When the day came, Indianna fed Riot the potion and sent
him to sleep. She locked him in a cave and waited. Ten days passed when she let the boy out, and
she was so proud of what she saw. Riot had changed into a large and powerful Wildclaw, able to
fight to the death. But he still looked friendly enough to lure others into joining the pair in their
quest.

• This only involves 2 active members of my clan, the rest of the clan came in a lot later.
• When a dragon is sent to serve the Shadowbinder - or any other deity - they are being sacrificed.
• These sacrifices were part of a complicated ritual performed by the elders of the clan and the
mature hatchlings. The elders would read the scripts but the hatchlings would be the ones to
actually perform the sacrifice. This would allow the elders and clan members to see which
hatchlings would grow to become strong and resilient to anything. Hatchlings that didn’t show
this was punished. The punishment could range from fasting, being exiled or sacrificed
themselves.
• Pearlcatchers believed that they were the superior race, but many didn’t take action for it. They
lived in peace with other species but were slightly hostile towards Imperials. As generations
passed, the vast majority of PC’s dismissed the hostility and lived a better life.
Indianna is the founding dragon of the Faction, yet in modern-day she takes no part in anything
they do.
• Indi took pity on Riot when he was born, a small part of her even feels love for him as if he was
her own child. Ultimately, this is her weakness.

One of the oldest members of the clan, Indianna oversees everything that goes on. She predicts
the comings and goings of any dragons that dare venture into her clan.
She mostly lives alone, after murdering her past mate and children, Riot doesn’t trust her fully
with going into the social scene of the clan. She spends her days chained to her cauldron, food
scraps promptly delivered to her 5 times a day. After sitting underground her decades, Indianna
has become ridden with disease, her wings torn and body blistered and oozing. She’s forced to
wear bandages on her arms and legs to keep the flesh from falling off.
While she isn’t allowed much contact with other dragons, there are a few that dare defy Riot’s
orders. Indianna has followers in the clan much more powerful than she. 2 she-dragons born
with natural magic has secretly been learning the ways of a Seer.
