Unusual Eyes
Dragons with unusual eyes have depths in magical ability that can be hard to fathom. Their powers run deep, as their bodies serve as a reservoir they can draw on even when external resources run thin. Unfortunately, their endurance can also make them reckless. Unusual-eyed dragons might overextend themselves if they're not familiar with their own limits. If these dragons are touched by Mother's Blessing in the first trial they soon find that they can overcome the plague through sheer force of will. They beat back the sickness limb from limb, organ by organ, until it lies dormant within them, ready to be called upon. While it is rare for an unusual-eyed dragon to fail the second trial, they have no guarantees in passing the third.

Day XX of year XXXX
Well, this is quite the predicament I've gotten myself into. I'd agreed to go out and find rare samples for the one who cured me, but I'm starting to think perhaps this was some kind of elaborate trap. I knew they were jealous. My skills in magic are far better than theirs, even if I can't cure anyone like they can...but really, was this necessary? I'm just glad I had the good sense to bring a larger bag that closes properly. My poor pearl would be lost somewhere below me if not.
My wings are tangled in this net, along with most of the rest of me. It seems to be some sort of metal? I can't quite get my claws through it...or my teeth. I tried slipping my lets out of it, but I've just been tangled up further. At least I was able to get to my journal and writing tools easily. Terrifying to think this might be my last entry, as this net could belong to one of the beastclans, or perhaps another group of dragons. It's surprisingly good quality. Off topic.
The samples turned out to be a waste of time. One of them didn't even do what the Necromancer said they should have. The other? Well, it looked promising. It seemed to absorb the damaged necrotic bits of flesh from the test subject, but that was it. Left the poor creature in a worse state than before. Not useful for my plans to try and find a remedy for my condition and fix my failures during my trials.
I think I'll just not go back 'home' after this. Assuming I survive this net fiasco.
