A dragon of her stature scarcely has the claws to handle hoarding, you fool. Why did you even ask? This is why they hire help, to handle such matters. If she were to handle her own hoard, however, it would probably be in some sort of room wall-to-wall in gems, hiding glittering gold underneath the surface.

Uh-oh, looks like this brat wandered a little too far from their home lair (452562, Hyzenthlaay) (Fateful, 672531), and now they’re off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt them, we'd really appreciate it if you instead could just return them to their original home via the Crossroads, send them off in the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread (warning, you will get another traveler in return if you do this), or if you don’t want another traveler in return, this rest hub. You can also adopt them permanently if you don’t want them leaving your lair - just contact Hyzenthlaay and let her know (it’s good for her notes)!

Many people have worked very hard on this traveling dragon, and exalting them would be an absolute shame. Please don’t do it!

Honeybird is about as spoiled as they come. The first successful egg of her mother's hatch upon quite a few misfortunes, this guardian was lavished with love and attention from the moment she was born, curating quite a complex. She's about as entitled as they come, and that's no news to her parents, who are getting quite tired of her antics (and demands for pretty new clothes). Out of an effort of love, they have tossed her out of her home clan of Mavenlark and requested that she take to the traveling circuit in order to find her true charge, which she insists is being waited upon and lavished. It may very well be, for all they know, but they're hoping that their precious little terror finds something better to do with her time than spend treasure and yell at dragons that refuse to attend to her on hand and foot.

I cannot even begin to comprehend the absolute gall of my parents! They forced me out of Clan Mavenlark today, saying that I was becoming too "stuck up" and "needed to find my way in the world"! After all I've done for them, being the most beautiful of their two daughters and a blessing to my mother! The nerve, the horror! Well, fine! I'll find a clan where the dragons recognize my beauty for what it is and take me in with open arms! I'm sure there's clans out there falling over themselves to take a specimen such as myself in!

Oh.. the first stop outside my home clan is a Plague clan. I almost regret causing my parents to kick me out - almost. Well, let's see if I can get my demands filled here.

Immediately, they called me one of the more "difficult" travellers, and I met a Spiral dragon named Joaquin. In an attempt to frustrate him and make him leave me alone, I threw demands at him - but for some reason, he only silently refused.

I discovered that Joaquin and I weren't as different as we thought.. but I couldn't believe he would dare to refuse something from me. Something tells me he's trying to induce discipline. He's been making compromises with me a lot, and only giving into my demands when I ask nicely.. but I guess what he's doing is better than nothing. One day, I asked Joaquin what he's trying to do. It turns out he wants to try to "reform" me. I don't think I've ever heard anything more hilarious in my life. Maybe I'm a little more mature now that I've met him, but being a spoiled brat is just who I am!

On the day I became an adult, I came back with some shiny clothing items. Joaquin asked me where I got them, and I told him that I got them from a newcomer to the clan - a regal young Guardian known as Robin. Robin apparently used to be a prince, and I completely believe him. Joaquin was unsure what to say, but supported me regardless. I'd call that a wise decision - he doesn't wanna know what could happen if he refused.

When a dragon named Lavender came to the clan, Joaquin suddenly spent less time with me - I was upset, but he gave me a few gifts to compensate. Either way, I can spend more time with Robin now. Robin asked if I've thought of having my own hatchlings before, and I decided to think about it.

As Robin and I approached the Nesting Grounds, we noticed that Joaquin was there - along with Thrash. I asked Joaquin what was happening, and he gestured to a nearby nest containing two eggs. I decided to say that I was considering carrying on my bloodline myself. Joaquin seemed rather proud of me - which is what I liked most about my caretaker.

Robin and I had one hatchling, and we named him Mavir. Afterwards, I decided to leave for better clans, taking my son with me.

"I hope he puts you through what you had me deal with!" Joaquin told me, jokingly. I had a feeling like his parents told him the same thing when he was younger. I appreciate all that Joaquin did for me - but of course, I secretly taught his daughter Zaleka every vulgar word I could think of. What can I say? I'm still a brat.

Trading one gloom spot for another, at least it seemed that this one held light.. And warmth. A lot of warmth. It was quite a bit actually. I found myself a relatively sheltered area to rest in the molten terrain. As I gathered up my strength from my travels, I listened to the steady beat of a dozen thrumming wings. Casting my eyes in the direction of the source, I find myself on the territory of a clan of fire faes. They all flew as if following a cadence. There was one that seemed to falter though, his eyes meeting mine for just the briefest moment before he hurried to catch up with his clan. Intresting.

It wasn't long before my strength had regained. Breaking away from the shaded area, I made my way about with a curious glint in my eyes. Faes hoarded things didn't they? Surely this was a place I could have my way. I couldn't have been but a few wing spans from my place of departure when a fae in sentry/guard like garb approached me. "Finally! I was beginning to wonder when the welcome party would arrive." I'd exclaim but gain no amusement from the other dragon. Were all dragons outside my lair this stiff?

"My name is Pollux. What is your reason for visiting?" He'd inquire in such stoic tone for such a little guy.

"Well, since you asked so nicely." I'd chide, awaiting some sort of remark but when nothing was achieved I simply sighed and went on. "I'm travelling from Mavenlark on behalf of my parents-"

"Traveller? Oh." Pollux would snort before giving and exhasperated flush of his frills. "Come along this way, we have a place for your kind."

"Kind?! Ex-Excuse you!" I sputtered at the total amount of disrespect from this.. this lower being!

---

It was mildly difficult being so close to the dens in which this clan inhibited. They all seemed to fly at the same time, their wings all beating and those frills buzzing against themselves. Huffing, I curled myself up even higher, flourishing my wings over my head.

"S'cuse me?" A hestiatnt voice broke over all the buzzing and humming.

Tipping back a wing, I peered at the present Fae. He stood on his hind limbs, front limbs wriggling awkwardly in front of him. He was small like all the rest of his kind, his wings seeming a bit larger than most but that was the only notable size difference. Just like the rest, his face remained laxed and unexpressive.. It was unnerving. "Yes?"

"I.." His frills seemed to flutter anxiously.. Or, that's what I think that meant at least, his face remained the same. "You're very breathtaking." My head would lift a little bit at this, both my wings lowering by my sides as he had my attention now. "I saw you when you arrived. I've never seen a dragoness, quite like you."

"Oh, how kind of you." I'd smile, giving a small flutter of my eyes. "Well I am my mother's prized daughter, I was the successful first successful egg of her clutches."

"She must be blessed by the Flamecaller to have such a beautiful daughter!" His expression remained the same but his head frills were perked up. "How many clutches were ugly before?" Huh? I looked startled a moment as he innocently lowered to all fours and **** his head to the side.

"I'm sorry?" I'd ask confused.

"Well you were the first beautiful. How many before you were ugly and exalted to the God?" I couldn't help but let my jaw drop. "Wh-What?"

"That didn't happen, she just had.. What in the..?" I was speechless. What do you say to that? The fae grew awkward again, his frills fluttering nervously.

He'd clear his throat, "Well you see Faes have a lot of hatchlings so when.." His eyes darted to the ground as one of his two fingered hands rubbed at the side of his face. "My name's Xerxes!" He'd pick his head up quickly to look at me, his frills shivering as if trying to settle.

"Honeybird.." I'd drawl uncertainly.

"Perhaps I started this all wrong. Um.. Oh! I brought these here for you." He'd reach around his back for a satchel and pull out two gauntlets Gold Filigree Gauntlets , turning them over and displaying them to me. I couldn't help but examine the fine craftsmanship of the wear. "Maybe we can just talk over a meal? Lighter stuff? And if you want I can answer any questions you may have." This was quite a different situation, one would've assumed Plague to be a darker element with methods. I cast my eyes back to the fae, he seemed honest and pretty innocent to how bad that had sounded.

"Sure, Xerxes. Sounds fun."

---

"The ideals of this traveller has tainted your faith in the Flamecaller." This fae was the leader of this clan, Ptolemy, as Xerxes had told me prior to this meeting.

"She hasn't! ..Not really." I nudged him with my tail to assure him I had his back. "The way we've been doing things are all wrong! We're exhalting youth that don't have a chance to decide whether they even want to live in such a way!"

"You think your God would want you to-" I had started to speak but the leading Fae bristled as she whipped her head in my direction. She launched up from her throne, flying straight towards my face but Xerxes intervened to meet her face to face.

"This Guardian knows nothing of our ways!" The Fae countered, hissing in the face of the blue Fae.

"She knows that Hatchlings have a say! Parents can't decide what to do with them like that! That's wrong!" Why does that seem so familiar? Did.. Did my parents have a right to kick me out like they did? Maybe I was a bit much but.. Was that much different than this?

---

"I've caused quite the stir in your clan." I mused, earning a small chuckled from the blue Fae.

"For the right reasons." His gaze would shift to the pool of lava, within it sat four eggs. I'd watch as his frills seemed to deflate for a moment before he turned to look back at me. "Are you certain you can't stay?" I paused for a moment, letting my own eyes carry over to the eggs that sat in the glowing magma.

"I can't end this journey just yet." I'd shake my head before looking back at Xerxes. "I know you'll take good care of them." I'd smile softly before turning to prepare for my departure.

@Hyzenthlaay here! This dragon is officially a part of the "Around the World in 365 Dergs" challenge. Check out the thread for information and more travelers like this! ...or just read the following:
  • The general idea is that I am going to create 365 unique traveling dragons, send them off into the world, and see what happens. I'm also going to complete mini-challenges along the way using travelers. If that interests you, consider checking the challenge thread out!
  • I don't want to overflood the system with just my dragons, so adopting travelers from me to live in your lair is totally fine! In fact, I'm betting on it. Just let me know.
  • Always feel free to tell me when you have this dragon in your lair! I love hearing updates.
